What are people’s thoughts on the 993 Turbo currently up for auction?
Service history looks good....Fearnsport have a good reputation...like the fact it’s a car that’s been used regularly. Drivers seat looks pretty knackered to me so I think that needs attention. Also think from the description depending on how you are about these things that it might need a respray...sounds like it’s had two or three panels painted and quite a few stone chips and some other damage than needs sorting.

If it was me buying it I’d want to get the interior and paintwork done....you could do that for less than £10k or get really good glass out job done and be looking at twice that money easily.
Thanks Cheib - I’m bidding on the car currently, if successful I would probably do a full retrain to black and a full respray to either black, silver or ... gold.. it’ll be a long term keeper so not looking to make a profit on it or worry about resale.
Retrim - not retrain!

To do all that work, would it not be better to look for the right spec car?

It would however not seen one that’s appealed and have been looking for a while.

Give Fearnsport a call maybe ? They must know it very well.

Well the 575 (EFX575) that sold last week has appeared on the winning bidders website for £69,995:-

http://www.justinbanks.com/2002-ferrari-575m-maran...

Bought a week ago here for £54,000 (I assume plus 6% - £57,240)

About the right mark up for a car like this, I suggest, to allow for retail prep, warranty work, cost of capital until it sells and a bit of profit. JB tends to price his cars attractively although they are generally not the best examples.

Makes his 550 look expensive, which it is anyway.

The market for 575's is pretty slim. Anyone wanting to buy one generally knows what's going on and where, there really aren't that many of them in the grand scheme of things.

To that end if there was a buyer for that car they would have been bidding on CC to buy, in fact a few were. Their threshold was low £50K + 6%. So I'm struggling to see who's going to buy it at £70k.

Just my thoughts.

Yeah, good shout.

Currently outbid on the car and deciding wether to go higher or not.. with premium it’s coming close to other dealer cars and the seats don’t look to be in as good condition as others.

Prices they’re achieving are truly impressive at the moment...

Slight typo..... But still, I am suprised this is already virtually double what 996 RS is!

I have 2 plates going in soon so will see how they fair.

Same buyer for both plates...David Flux...who I am guessing is the same David Flux of Adrian Flux who appears to have owned/owns some nice cars in the past.

I’m surprised the R8 didn’t sell - looked like a nice car getting good money.

Unsold according to CC but can’t remember where the bidding was yesterday - but certainly thought it should have pushed it over the mark.

Does this work like eBay where your maximum bid is put in but it only goes just above next highest? Or does your actual bid become the highest no matter the gap to the one below?

There's two 'modes'. One will auto-bid for you up to your max. The other (I think, I haven't used it) will just stick in your bid at whatever you put in.

The R8 above got to 37.5k, by the way.

When Ferrari’s are hitting £50k that seems ok. Sad to say.

Lovely:

But already sold for less:

Nice business model - buy on one with less traffic and lower prices, sell on the other for more!
Strange car this one.... we had it in stock about two years ago, absolute belter, one of the best driving 205s I’ve driven. Struggled to get it away though, eventually sold into trade again (for a good profit!). It then sat with that trader for nearly a year I think, eventually selling through The Market at what I thought was a bargain. Looks like the current owner is going to do well out of it!
I’m seriously tempted, but it would wipe out all my savings, I just... can’t... argh

Wasn’t this at 10k something a day or so ago? It looks like it’s dropped back in price. Looks bloody lovely and great value for money. I’m a big fan of 80s cars.
