Oh I've lots of experience. :-)

I just don't believe it's a free service as you said that's all, they've obviously priced it into the service package, you just aren't seeing it itemised so it's free to you. It's within their overall overheads and factored in to provide a collection service.
Anyhoo back to the topic at hand, wasn't trying to derail it.
I get that nothing is for free, but you are avoiding the question. How much? Put a figure on it.

The “FOC” is built in to the business overhead, just like the rental on the premises or the cost of the receptionist or the coffee.
And that is recovered through the hourly rate.

Can you please stop this petulant bickering.
You are ruining the thread about whether OP should buy a V10 supercar or a 570S

Answered it in my first post to you. Min £1.50 per mile probably more down south.
Anyway let's get it back on topic it's neither here or there as to the OP

Nothing petulant about it. I am explaining the McLaren ownership experience. Some people don’t have the experience.

‘’’ supercar or a 570S” ?? Hmmmmm....

You tell me. You seem well informed that FOC implies it was part of the service anyway.

Do you have experience?
You don't need to have had a service there, or to own a McLaren, to understand that any "freebies" are built into the price. Even if they're socialised across all customers that don't use them. Unless you think that transporter cost £0 and the guy driving it is a volunteer.
"socialised across all customers" so you mean a company overhead. We all pay company overheads though yes even you bandit

Just by the McLaren and be done with; I really struggle to see how you would regret it or have any 2nd thoughts about getting the R8. That's not dissing the R8, I do really like them but I think the McLaren is in a whole other league on so many levels, I think you will still be pinching yourself several months later when you still open the garage door and see it sitting there...

Anyone done serious miles in a 570S/GT? Like the old Lonman GT2!

There is a new Thorney Motorsport youtube video about the long-term reliability of Mclarens. A decent independent view based upon real-world knowledge:-

I entered a raffle yesterday with the top prize being a 570S in Orange. £7 per ticket and it comes with £2k towards running costs which I guess is the first 6 months of the warranty covered. I suggest OP dips his toe in with that as a starting point, much cheaper way into one of these superbcars

I’m going to say something controversial here.

I like both cars.

I completely disagree with anyone that says that an R8, particularly a gen 1, “blends in” or is “just another Audi”. These statements are obvious nonsense. A v10 R8 in a bright colour with the essential Capristo exhaust is stunning to look at, listen to and drive.

I also disagree with those who suggest that a mclaren is just about brand shopping and snobbery. Some of the comments on here have sounded like that and some will buy these for this reason but it doesn’t mean that they aren’t awesome cars.

I think for the OP one overlooked reason for going for the R8 is simply cost. If there were £20-£30k more in the budget then the mclaren becomes an option. I would go into any kind of purchase of cars like these without a chunk of money in the bank.

Drive both. If you prefer the Mac then find the money to make it a comfortable purchase. If not then buy the R8. You really can’t go wrong.

Enjoy the hunt.
