2016 570S went for £76k inc buyers premium on CC.
I sold my 718GT4, entirely impractical on road due to height and length of nose.
Gt4 wouldn’t see which way a 570S went, heavier, gappy gears vs dual clutch and a third less power imho.
GT4 as rapid as a 570S on real world UK driving roads especially in the wet.I sold my 718GT4, entirely impractical on road due to height and length of nose.

As a track car the 570S is well out of its depth and Mclaren would void your warranty too. No issues to the track focused GT4 and warranty honoured by Porsche too.
Never had any issues with either a 981 GT4 or 718 GT4 due to insufficient front clearance.
Poor reliability, depreciation and widely reported poor dealer backup are the real Mclaren issues.
Wanted to love the 570S but ended up frustrated by it as have many others.
Having a 981 Spyder, very similar to a GT4, and a McLaren 675LT and a Lotus 430 CUP I disagree with some comments above about the GT4 being as quick as a 570. Absolutely no way. I have driven both on track, the 570 just punches you into your seat whereas the GT4 is more linear. The GT4 / Spyders are great cars and very usable but the McLaren is much quicker and a lot comfier on the road. The 981 Spyder looks and sounds amazing though.
If you want a McLaren go with a 650s, an awesome car very usable and super quick and has the active aero and suspension that the 570 does not. However for weekend fun use I would go with an Exige 430 / 410. Nothing comes close for engagement and fun factor.

Just seen you aren’t getting your gt4 for a few months, so you won’t have had issues with ground clearance yet.... just wait.
Had a 981 GT4 from new which of course has the GT3 front chassis but had no issues re clearance for road use.The 718 GT4 has the GT3 suspension all round the rear is actually lower which has the effect of slightly increasing the front clearance.
Suppose it depends where you live angle of approach and severity of speedbumps etc. but I have no problems on clearance.
personally i'd go for either:

Id wager a 50% depreciated, warrantied 570S wouldn't be more expensive than a 599.FTFY
Guess I'll just have to keep it.....

I've owned my 650 spider for almost a year now. If some of the views on this place are true I'd literally have to pay somebody to take it away by now.

Agreed. Being honest if my 540c was the same price aa a same age used as a hurrican or 488 then it'd be a very difficult choice between them. But as it was 50% of the price it was an easy decision.Guess I'll just have to keep it.....

The 570S isn’t a track focussed car. Try the 600LT as a fair comparison with the GT4. McLaren void the warranty if used on track, why? Anyway, the OP hasn’t said he is looking for a track car. He wants something with theatre, overall experience and performance. 570S provides those in abundance.
I was in a similar situation to the OP In April last year, deciding between Porsche, AM, Lambo and Ferrari but chose the Mac. In fact I was very close to buying a new 570S Spider but was offered a decent discount on a barely used 720S, otherwise I would have chosen the 570S.
720 is a real dream car of mine ! mauvine blue 720 yes please ! ha ! bristol is my closest dealer which is probs 2 hours away which is bit of a pain but need to go test drive a 570 and see for myselfI was in a similar situation to the OP In April last year, deciding between Porsche, AM, Lambo and Ferrari but chose the Mac. Easy decision.
Corvette C7 Z06, if you can find one. £85k buys a low mileage late car. Great handling, rewarding to drive, all the theatre you could ever want, 650 bhp, reliable and inexpensive to service, fantastic soundtrack, and best of all, as rare as hens teeth in the U.K.
People on here will say downsides are left hand drive, but that’s nearly always people that haven’t driven a LHD car. Honestly it makes no difference.
Just my opinion. ??
funny you mention that i have always wanted a c7 but like you said have been put of by the left hand drive aspect , i was offered a swap on my gtr with a c6 zr1 which i really should have taken up ! I had a 911 991.1 GTS, a Ferrari 488 GTB, a few other less exciting things...
Now I am in a 2018 Vantage V12VSM and it is more fun to drive than any of the others and will take longer to learn.
Yes the 488 would leave it for dead on a track but it wasn't really me driving that, it was the computers.
The Aston will throw you into a field if you are not on your A-Game when driving fast. Much more of a challenge, better looking and you get more love on the road as its British.
I cannot see myself ever selling the Vantage.

This is a rather nice looking 570 and from a very good dealer as well - https://www.johnhollandsales.co.uk/used-cars/11603...

I think a CLK Black will hold value quite well - should have bought one when they were still cheap(ish)
they've gone up recently, the black series name is becoming increasingly well known and sought after bennno said:

Have had mine for around 7 months now and 2k miles. No clearance issues at all in general driving, and I've been down some very sketchy country lanes - as well as all other kinds of roads.Only thing I would say is that if you have a sloping driveway, any gradient changes need to be relatively smooth
