Considered this myself over my current AMG GTS.
That is a good call ! I put my name down for one but price was far to high

Thread Resurrection !!

If you had circa £85-90k and was going to buy a car for 5000-7000 UK road use, 3-4 track days p.a and 1 Europe tour (if can get through Dover queue!), where would your money be:
570S or Spyder
AMG GTR
M4 GTS
Vantage V12 S
R8 V10 Plus
Exige/Evora 430

All excellent cars, I'm not in market for Porsche, superb cars, but want a change.

As a complete curve ball - I have a 991 GT3 RS along with one or two other cars and yet if I’m going on a quick local blast or indeed my next euro excursion I’ll be taking my S54 BMW Z3M coupe......bread van.
The engine is just fantastic, superb handling, quirky and different. I’d spend 40k on a good one and keep 50 in the bank.

That dealer is also fantastic... if you call them speak to Jon Bennett.
I bought my gts from them in Feb unseen and they were incredibly helpful and honest.

Thanks for feedback

Any thoughts on spec and price of this car ?
I sold my car for £62k in May with a fresh service and 13k miles. It was much better speeced with carbon seats and leather dash with contrast stitching.

The spec items to look out for are:-

1. Bucket seats. carbon folding are older style and very, very comfy but no height or recline adjustment, worth £8k second hand! so price accordingly. 918 seats are thinner and not as comfy, no recline and more upright. They are wider in the buttocks and have height adjustment. The folding buckets can also be heated. The comfort seats for me are a no-no in a 981 Spyder but if you must price accordingly!
2. Extended leather interior including dash with contrast stitching. The plastic dash looks awful. Again it was an expensive option and is well worth having.
3. Sat nav / PCM. they don't all have it. Personally i never used the satnav but is good for resale
4. AC again they don't all have it so check, it was an option. make sure they do. There is a further dual zone which I had and liked as my wife gets car sick and likes her side set to North Pole
3. Reverse camera, nice but pretty useless, it gets filthy. None come with parking sensors so if you are used to sensors you may want the camera.
6. 64L fuel tank, standard tank is smaller, I think 52L or so.
7. Bose had mixed reviews, some prefer the sound package plus but for resale bose helps.
8. Cruise control. can be retro-fitted for approx. £400 as only needs the stalk, the rest if the electrics are there so not a deal breaker

These are the main ones to look out for. The car in the add is pretty low spec. I would not buy it there are much better examples at the same price. IMHO that car should be £59k but even at that price I would pay more for better seats and extended leather. it also has leather steering wheel and I think the alcantara is much nicer.

They are great cars, I loved mine, wish I could have kept it but bought a 675LT and ran out of storage space, I do regret selling :-( . Little video of mine from a trip to the Alps last year. Apologies I am not a YouTuber so its pretty basic!

Spec on that white Hull OPC Spyder is dire.

But the killer for me is 5 previous owners.

Recently sold my white 1 owner from new 981 Spyder. Great cars if over farty exhaust in sport mode in particular.

White folding buckets pcm ext leather red stitching carbon sat plat wheels.
