Gordon Murray’s T.50 revealed...
Discussion
Fascinating that his whole starting point is a softly sprung car. My gripe with almost all new cars is they are rock hard as they weight to much and have to have stiff springs to control them. Lightness, complaint suspension, NA engine, manual box, NO TOUCH SCREEN (alleluia), thin rimmed steering wheel, analogue tacho. All sounds like heaven. Now all he needs to do is make an affordable car for the rest of us.

Exactly.Follow that model of lightness, compliant suspension, N/A engine etc, and make a Mk1 Boxster sized simple car for the rest of us.
Wait a second?? Lotus already do that with the Evora!

I think GM is only selling to people who will actually drive it, rather than those who will put it in a garage and try to sell it for double the money in a year's time, which might be why he's taking time to 'vet' buyers?
Is that qualified in anyway? Or just your opinion?Yes, im sure he may say no to selling a car to someone he really dislikes, but otherwise would he 'vet' potential buyers?
It doesn't appear to be on the website, though, and I don't have time to search for it in the paper versions at the moment!
His approach was (again, IIRC) that they are built to be driven and he doesn't want them to sit in garages. I think he touches on this in the Harry's Garage video at one point.
For those of us with much ,much shallower pockets :
Lotus Elise R.
2010 => S3 variant .
Naturally aspirated

133 lb ft @ 6800 rpm
Transient max revs of 8500 ( constant @ 8,000 )
860 Kg
3 pedals
Softly sprung
Narrow
Agile
Good outwards visibility
Just needs a 2bular exhaust , as the only non OEM mod
Real world UK driving bliss
( MX5 Series 1 not that dissimilar either ......... my apologies if I have offended anyone , and yes I know this is the Supercar Forum )

Enjoyed the Harry's garage video with him. Very focussed on all the right things. Unfortunately 99% of us will never get to drive it or experience it, that's the shame of it.
Never say never Chris. If you go and hovee around the GMA offices, you will eventually get to experience it when one drives past
Or you could become a YouTuber.

Outstanding, what an engineering masterpiece.
I did like Gordon's comment that the T.50 will be the most driver-centric supercar ever built.I just finished a blog comparing the T.50 with the other current 3 seat super/hypercars.
Am really looking forward to your review of your car once you get it - certainly a car I’d be interested in if I had a little more money

I don't wish to offend anyone in the forum but for many years I've not been that bothered about supercars, seeing them as a bit pointless, or perhaps more frustrating to be used on UK roads. Reasons are basically those mentioned on various of the collecting cars podcasts, eg the one where Chris interviews Harry M.
Don't get me wrong, the cars can be technically interesting, but in terms of actually wanting to spend money on one, or in many cases wishing I had enough to realistically have the option, nope, not really, never.
However for the T50, the rule of never saying never is proven. I would dearly love to be able to drive one just to see, just to have the experience, to appreciate that every detail has been thought through logically. Dearly love to be able to afford one, I can't. There are so many touches about it that just resonate. Converted.
