Right here's the deal, its been kept off of the forums up untill now as all spaces were filled by using people and cars that were known personally, but due to a couple of unforseen circumstances we might have lost a Lambo.

I have been asked to organise a dozen or so cars, drivers and guests to attend an Army Officers Mess Summer Ball in the Cambridgeshire area on 23rd July. The deal is that the cars and drivers will be used as a "sideshow" to the main ball and provide hotrides for guests on their own personal airfield from about 8-10.30 ish so yes into the dark. The airfield will have floodlights on the corners and will have been mechanically swept during the day (several times). All drivers will arrive midday ish and we get the afternoon to play and set the track out as we want it and generally hoon. Obviously Drivers and a guest would recieve freebie ball tickets and large amounts of food and alcohol after the driving untill the small hours, all other issues like security, accomodation, legal disclaimers, insurance, safety car, fire, ambulance etc will all be taken care of.

Thats a brief outline of the event, already signed up are a fair few of the Vmax regulars and PHers and basically one from each of the key marques, current cars confirmed are DB7, DB9, 360 challenge stradale, 996 RUF Turbo, Radical SR3, Maserati 3200GT, Caterham 7, Cerbera 4.5LW, Griffith 500 and an Elise. All of the drivers are either known to me personally or come with a recomend and the key part is that we pull off the evening "incident free" as the carrot being dangled is that the Colonel of the regiment would be prepared to lease us the airfield for future events if everything runs smoothly.

So the only hole we've got in the line up is for a Lambo (or actually if anyone else has something really exotic they'd be welcome) If you fancy an afternoon/evening of free airfield access in a very small select group, and then a nightime of black tie drinking and merryment please feel free to drop me an email through my profile and I'll get back to you.

lucky lot - what a brilliant idea! I'd offer the M5 but haven't managed to track it myself yet, and it isn't in the same league as a 360CS!

Come on Phers - this is a golden opportunity - free track time on military grade smooth tarmac thats been swept - better service than you'll get anywhere at a trackday.

No disrespect to those of you trying your hand with non lambos* but I think mel has his field covered with TVR's Ferraris Lotuses etc - including a 360CS and various other exotica - it would just be nice to have a lambo for the full set!

*trackers NSX excepted as I know he was on the list from ages back anyway!

Appreciate the request is for a Lambourghini, but should you want another Lotus on the day (pic in profile) I'll be very happy to join in the fun.

(Mr_Tony unfortunately for him knows me if you so desire references!)

Mel,

WIth deep regret and apologies I'm going to have to pull out on the 23rd.
I'm actually going to be carless by then. Sorry again, it's sounds a cracking day.

Gutted I can't make this now (family duties call).
Would seriouly recommend this to any of you knowing the people involved it will be fun, but run safely and prfessionally so you have nothing to fear and a lot of free track time to gain with a minimum of other cars and a swept runway it's a fantastic opportunity...

Mel

I see you only want gentle slow cars, if the pace needs to steepen a little I might help out ...
