Car been in detailers for 2 days now and I'm missing her. Can't even pop into the garage on a spurious errand just to have another look at her frown

On your point about the front parking sensors etc, PHer James at https://astoninstallations.com/ should be able to help you out with a front camera and maybe some other goodies if you're in the mood for a bit of a spend.

Good to know and I've logged their website in my favourites as I do think I might end up with a front camera at some point but for now I'm going to pull the spending back in for a while !

Hi there and your fezza didn't look too bad either smile
I was a bit taken aback at the size of the 812 on the road, don't know if its the paint colour but it looked HUGE with massive road presence. Much bigger than I had thought or is it all optical illusion laugh
I was on my way to B&Q for an external electrical power socket hence I may have looked a little uninterested and even bored !!! The mundane aspects of life can even blunt the drive in a V12.
Next time we should pull up so I can check your 812 out

Fingers crossed for you
Can you share which car it is? Understand if you want to keep it shh for now.
The favoured options to look for
One77 steering wheel
Carbon roof
Carbon mirrors
Carbon strakes
Quilting and or leather upgrades or stitching
Forged alloys over the cast one's
Anything else is a bonus and personal taste

Other than the above it just condition and history so hope it goes well and be sure to let us know how you get on.

It got the: One77 steering wheel, Carbon roof, no Carbon mirrors but has the carbon mirror arms, black grill vanes.
Silver strakes, silver window surrounds. Black and alcantara interior with white stitching. It's a more chilled out looking car, if you know what I mean, not all blacked out.

Will look at it tomorrow, if I like what I see, will try to do a deal - it is month end too, so might take an offer.

Well done that man ! Congrats she looks a belter.

I love the split personality of the Vanquish, nice comfortable and almost serene long distance cruiser with a great stereo for chillaxing away the miles.
Then press sport button and get a heavy right foot and it suddenly a whole different ball game. Not many cars can successfully pull off both roles
I'm sure you will enjoy her

Thank you very much, can I ask a couple of questions on the sport and damper buttons on the steering wheel.

So if you press them, the red light comes on, so is it just 2 modes on each, so:

Suspension: Comfort and with light on: Sport (does it do anything else like steering) ?

S Button: Is it again 2 stage, what parameters does it alter ?

Is there a halfway house for the traction control or any track/race mode ?

Sorry for all the questions, thank you.

The suspension button has 3 settings,
1. standard no light on
2. sport puts the red light on
3. And then track ( you just keep the button pressed once its already in sport mode and it will go into track)

As for the sport button I'm not sure what parameters it changes but it's not just the exhaust valves that much I do know.
The gearbox in drive mode is a little slow to pick up in first gear, like when trying pull out into a gap on a roundabout but is much faster to do so when sport is activated. So it changes the box but I think it also changes the steering weight and throttle weighting plus the exhaust valve.
Sorry I'm a little vague but I always seem to use it sport mode and In manual mode with the paddles. It just sounds so much sweeter on the downshift etc when done manually

Perfect, that's exactly what I wanted to know, great the suspension has 3 modes. Can't wait to try it out and get to know her.

Got her booked in middle of April for front end PPF and side sills and ceramic coat, will post some photos

Worth being aware, if you don’t already know and assuming it also applies to the non-S as well, that there’s a setting in the menu to remember the last used modes (so you don’t need to hit Sport each time). smile

Good to know all this stuff, thank you. Very helpful bunch of people you are. Does anyone take their cars to any of the PH Sunday service meets, would be great to get a few Astons there one Sunday ? I went to Caffeine and Machine last week, a lovely selection of metal there, although a bit nippy !

Just had one more question pop into my head, how do you fold the sat nav screen back away, as it automatically opens when the car is started, same with the B&O speakers, is there a way to pop them back down with engine running ?

I'm not part of the Sunday scene but the speakers will retract by switching the stereo off.
The sat nav screen will fold away when you switch the car off but you can have the screen stay folded down if you prefer, again it's in the settings menu.

A little update for you.
Starting to really get to grips with her now and have covered about 1200 miles since collection in early March.
However this is my first trip away from home with her and I'm suffering that hotel car park anxiety I'm.sure some of you must be aware of.
I have a great day out driving on track tomorrow ( in other people's cars) and have travelled down the day before.
I am now at a small, quiet hotel a little off the beatentrack (picked for those very reasons) if not the most salubrious yet I still find myself constantly checking out the windows that my car is there. Who has parked next to it, have they left enough of a gap that I perceive as reasonable, etc etc
As anal as it sounds I foresee a night of constantly checking up at the window all of which is is completely unnecessary of course but hey ho I suppose this is part of the deal.
I do of course like the number of times kids video you starting up and driving off, must be in dozens if not hundreds of tiktok videos already !
