Happy to oblige Jason.

Almost 6000 miles later......loved every minute of her.
Firstly the detailing job done is holding up really well though I do go a bit over board with my cleaning routines but nonetheless she looks great.
She has been down to France, been on track, attended charity car days, car shows and various other events and done a few outings with some fellow Astpn owners.

Hard spirited driving about 8mpg yet cruising with rhe wife on board about 30mpg so not too bad.
1st service and MOT done in January. The car was still under warranty so the dealer was expressly told to go looking for as much work as they could find before the warranty expired. They replaced both door modules as 1 of them wasn't dropping far enough to comfortably clear the roof when opening. They also found a small oil leak from the front of the engine so that was sorted too under the timeless. They couldn't find anything else for me to worry about.
As part of the service I asked them to change the coolant as I wasn't sure if or when it had last been done (overnight job as they like to leave it draining being a vacuume sealed arrangement or something?)and to replace both air filters all of which was over and above the scheduled service so that pumped the cost upto £1400 and I think the warranty bill was about £3k.
She starts on the button though I do worry about the oil pressure taking a couple of seconds to extinguish when she hasn't been used for a while but nothing I can do about that. I did start a thread about 'dry starting' and I'm not the only one who worries about the oil starvation for those first seconds but also no reported issues either.
Driving is a pleasure and more importantly I always trust the car to start stop and get me where I'm going.

Issues......the infotainment system has rebooted itself inexplicably on 2 occasions in the first few months. Once while I was trying to navigate a French city which was fun without sat nav for 2 mins !
Erm....struggling now......the small panel.in the boot that hides some of the electrical gubbins and is held in place with velcro sometimes drops down inside the boot. Oh and the fuel.filler flap opens on the button only when it feels like it and doesn't when it also feels like it. Rummaging in the boot on a shell forecourt for the manual release is pretty routine despite the dealers best efforts.
Only ever get positive appreciative comments and courtesy from people, the public do generally love an Aston
Absolutely no regrets, incredibly comfortable, sounds biblical, great stereo too.

thanks. Servcing does seem 'cheaper' than a 599.

I'm trying to undersand the spread from the gen 1 and gen 2.

Eta. I do like this

Seems over priced for a none franchised, however I like the spec.

Yeah I think it's a bit pricey too especially compared to a full dealer and thus warrantied car like this

Running costs are very reasonable compared to a 599 and the Aston just feels so much more robust than the 599s I tried though we should acknowledge the 599 is an older car than the Vanquish.
I can still see and understand the appeal of the fezza but ultimately the Aston is far easier to live with, cheaper to run and definitely sounds better. You can easily sort the fezza sound by replacing the exhaust system.but of course that costs too.
F1 gearbox is an acquired taste whereas both the early 6 and later 8 speeds from Aston are proper modern auto boxes.
Any questions just fire away

Probably a SOR car and an owner who is totally unrealistic on the price .

I don't mind an f1 box. I just think the vanquish offers a bit more for the same money. hopefully without some of the bills. A 599 would be awesome though.
