Hi,
this is my first post here and was wondering if anybody can help me out?

I've decided it's time to fulfil the dream and I'm now actively trying to source a good 25th anniv Countach. I've only been able to find one for sale at the moment (Lamborghini Wycombe) but would like to see as many as possible before taking the plunge. I'm Dublin based and so am only familiar with the more well known UK dealers so if anyone could suggest or knows of a vendor I'd be really grateful.

PS-Does anyone have any idea if Pullicino Classics are still in operation?

John Pullicino still operates - wish I could remember his trading name - something like GTR... and something tells me that he uses a hosted website - like racecar.co.uk or mobile.de.

I heard his brother passed away recently

I think that's him - shame about his brother - Mark IIRC?

Karl Virdi will know exactly what John's up to and as it happens is also likely to know who might have an Anniversary for sale too

Guys,

I knew Mark rather well when he was living in Wimbledon. Lost touch over the past 3 years. Can someone PM me with details of what happened to him please.

Last I heard John was buying for private collectors and based in France IIRC

Thnx

Can't help you there I'm afraid although I'd be interested to know too - I read about it in the Lambo Club UK newsletter but it didn't give any details.

A sad loss

In 1999 I went along to Pullicino Classics and was blown away. It was the first time I'd seen a 25th and they had two in white. As well as that they had a couple of Gulf Racing GT40s. Pity the company isn't there anymore.

IMO the anni is the worst looking of the lot . . . LP5000 or LP400 for me. The QV doesn't sound that good . . . sorry.

For sale

For sale: I'd buy this one

The Anniversary is now widely regarded as the best roadgoing Countach in terms of handling & reliability.

don't know why anyone would buy an Anniversary - the worst looking of the lot and likely to appreciate the least in future

the regular QV has same mechanicals, is lighter and much better looking - also doesn't have needless electric seats and windows

of course, I'd have an LP400 too but these are much harder to come by (as I found out)

A few months back I was the passenger in a great LP5000S. This car does sound better than any QV (OK, sportsex.) and has a more torquey character. An LP400 has the looks but when I had the choice . . . I'd think twice . . . The Anni is out of the Q btw.

I've also known about the divided opinions about this car but I've had close looks at pretty much the entire range including quite a few LP500s and QVs and I still like the look of the 25th. I don't doubt my taste fairly questionable - I'm looking at an Alfa SZ as well - but as my car tastes are stuck in 1990 it's what it has to be.

have you spoken to mike pullen 01444 455100 he looks after as many countach's as anybody and may know who is selling, also maybe jason barker he sources cars don't have the number but he has a web site. any one that really thinks an lp5000 drives better than a qv engined car must be nuts, flat spot city. the anniv does ride a little better and seems a bit more refined but you must get the right colour, not white. qv for me thanks or craigs lp400.

No you go for it mate! Dont be swayed.

I know an awful lot of people slate the anniversary but I absolutely love it, I think the extra body work makes it look very modern and a bit more shapely. The old curvey/fat tired shape of the LP400 just looks really dated and poorly proportioned to me. The 25th looks, well, pure Lambo.

Best of luck finding one and please post pictures when you do.

Thanks guys for all your responses, comments and suggested contacts for finding the car I'm looking for.

I'm traveling over to London this w/e to have a general browse so with a bit of luck I'll be going in the right direction.

"fat tyred shape of LP400" - the LP400 does not have fat tyres. If you think the LP400 is more dated than the later cars then I think you are in the minority but each to their own.
