That rattling noise that I had in the engine (that you had too) has turned out to be the bypass valve (as I am sure yours is ) mine's rattled its way U/S and they just phoned me to say its £xxxx....however I told themn to speak to the sales guuys as I only bought it 2 months agao and so it should be on the goodwill guarantee (fingers crossed).....also going to upgrade the headlights bulbs while there (oh and leak mended too in the roof seals).....I will let you know (they also reckon bypass valve covered on warranty if you have one ) - its £850 odd quid otherwise !!

I bought mine over 6 months ago so it wasn't covered on the warranty. The warranty only covers exhaust and exhaust related problems for 3 months as its part of the goodwill charter.
Luckily, Manu and Ajay got me sorted for less than £160 so I saved a few bucks! But, one thing There was a bit of a rattle still, and I was told by Verdi's that it was likely that the cats are on their way out. Need a second opinion, but I think you should make sure yours are okay too, as its apparently a common problem with 355's. IIRC the cats are covered only by the goodwill charter, so get someone to look at it before the 3 months period is over.
Maranellos obviously didn't diagnose my car properly at the time! I could have had it all sorted on warranty, but luckily it was only £150 or so, I was willing on Thursday to pay £900 to get it sorted, but luckily Maranellos couldn't fit me in.

Basher, keep an eye on the oil, I'd say once a week. When you are doing mileage it absolutely drinks through oil. I looked recently and I needed near a litre top up. Handbook says something like a litre every 2K or 3K miles or something like that.
