GT2 - they're takign the pi**! Smile and ignore

And yes - tony is a very sensitive soul - the remark obviously wounded him deeply for him to remember it for so long

Has to be said it's true that merely seeing a Diablo on the road makes me smile - so the benefit to onlookers should not be overlooked! Benefit to drivers and passengers in terms of a general feeling of is considerably more important however!

Right back on Topic.

Having veered off in the lambo direction and effectively discounted all the sensible choices (well what did you expect look at my profile to see previous choices do not exhibit any level of senisbility)

So choices gentlemen :

SE30 - special edition to celebrate 30 years of Santa Agata.
Diablo more powerful and lighter than before it seems.

VT - seems to change spec.

6.0VT - seen LHD cars for 80k - but I figure theres still some serious depreciation to be done on them. (or am i wrong?)

You're missing the SV in that line up!!!

Look at the two yellow ones up at Carlo's.

...and the silver one!!! Let's talk tomorrow.

Isn't the SV 2WD only? (suppose the SE is too then?)
Too many different models out there

Thanks for all the (mostly) helpful input people, I'll go back into thinking mode for a bit until I get a chance to drive something...

SE30 (in yellow or Viola!) or a late SV (530BHP) would be the ones to go for - a 6.0 litre would also be a good choice but more money!

Which out of the above is the better purchase at the moment?
Main criteria - percentage of value retained over 18 months (i.e. my next car change!)...

I love the drama of the Diablo VT - great looking car, such drama, such excitement and hell the noise! Still - will it bankrupt me on servicing or its value drop like a stone, compared to a 360?

360 - brilliant car, and pricewise rather tempting right now - depreciation has done it's job and a good car could retain a very large percentage of the purchase price at the moment over 18 months.

Go for what you feel ! Richard . But make it to Le Mans some how . It was a pleasure to meet you last year

if you don't want a daily drive and you want massive sense of occasion there's only one choice. as dealmaker said, se30, sv or 6ltr, and your money is safe.

JayKays Viola SE30 was up for £80K back in 2001. Was sorely tempted, but I didn't move quick enough.

Shame! I think SE30's have the potential to appreciate in the future - especially if you could find one of the "Jota kit" cars - 2 or 3 of those in the UK - no doubt Allan (Ruttboy) can confirm!!

I was told it was the uncrashed one, but nonetheless had a "very hard life"

years ago jason told me there were 3 se jotas, the yellow car (daves) with yellow wheels, the viola car (peters) and a black car. he said the viola car had been de jota'd, apparently they have a huge hit at the top end but run real bad at low rpm. alan would know the yellow car was at his place recently.

didn't nightmare have a JOTA?

Thing is the car will be used mostly for trips to Europe / long distance uk drives - so leaning towards stability and comfort rather than lightnesss and the last couple of mph on the 1/4...

I wonder if Lamborghini are still able to offer "Jota" conversions to SE30's??? If all the bits are still available. Wonder what the cost would be ??

I guess the Jota was largely superceded by the GT anyway......and on THAT subject I hear there's a Diablo to GT2 spec available on the used market for circa € 130,000 - wonder what THAT would cost to convert to road use????

It's in the back of Octane mag this month
And I'm not going there - I would financially bury myself!
