Lamborghini warranty
Discussion
I'm looking at a nice 2003 Murcielago which is just out of warranty, private sale.
I called Lamborghini today to ask if they offered extended warranties (like Ferrari / Mercedes do ) subject to a FLSH.. but they said they don't..
So.. is there any option other than to hope nothing expensive goes *BANG*
I was told that the rear dampers are £1500 each (and it needs 2 per corner) Ulp !

WarrantyDirect don't want to know (at least according to their website)
RAC do the extended-warranty that Lamborghini offer on their used cars (according to Lamborghini London today), so I may give them a bell on Monday.
I'd be interested in buying a warranty as well - as long as it ain't mega-bucks! So interested to hear how you get on.
Just like lots of other supercars, do a bit of digging and parts can be had direct from the manufacturer. Eg the Murcie brake pads at £1600 a set!! Bol**cks. They can be had direct from pagid agents for £300. Dampers at £3k a wheel.(Correct at 2 per wheel). I have a mate with a Murcie who paid £275 for each damper direct from a Koni agent. List goes on and on. I have'nt found a clutch yet but they are about and I'm convinced they are shared with another italian car. Mines getting a little heavy which isn't a good sign. But there is no way i'm gonna part with £6k for a new one from a dealer.
You would have thought that Audi would have told Lambo that to compete in the real worled they must sort things like this out.
The Porker extended warranty on all cars is around £800 per annum (having passed the 111 point secondhand car check) which underpins the secondhand private market (and dealer sales outide of the 12 month warranty).
If I had bought a Lambo I'd willlingly pay twice or thrice this, but I couldn't be arsed looking for direct Pagid brakes --- and a clutch at £6k ?
Forget it.

The Carrera GT clutch is 18k and the ceramic brakes a similar amount, I would have thought Porsche guilty of the same thing.

1600 quid for pads? That's just insane dude (300% markup over pagid agent). A set of 4 Ceramic pads for my car only cost 60 quid.

Simon,
Can you get us details of the damper part numbers and the Koni agent your mate bought from? This would be extremeley useful. Did the replacements have the full electronic adjustability? I presume they didnt give him any issues with the "error" light on the damping adjustment?
I think £6k for the clutch is only if you buy it complete - the wear part i.e centreplate is circa £2k I think?
Thanks!

Its a 200mph supercar. Doesn't matter what make it is, you are'nt gonna find pads at £60 for that sort of machinery

I'll find out about the shocks cos i'm going to need some before long.
As for the clutch all the bits are about £2k and as you know the rest is labour, (if you work out at £130 an hour inc engine out etc). Alan Robb at Lambo Wycombe replaces the centreplate (which wears) only. This is fine but its critical that the clutch hasn't started to slip, otherwise the flywheel needs replacing too. They used to do all this for £2000 plus vat which is really good, but that offer has ended now I think..

I concur. But 300% markup is taking the wee-wee a little.
