Murci Roadster in the UK? You'd have to be a supreme optimist. I couldn't imagine having one in Australia and it rains here only half as often.

If you love to drive, the Roadster would be a hugely frustrating experience, IMO. I haven't seen the aftermarket CF roof, but if people say it is ugly after seeing the factory "top", it must be awful.

If you like to cruise somewhere it rarely rains, the Roadster is a great way to arrive though...

Go with the hard top.

Not quite the same performance as a Murcie but I went from an S1 Elise to an S2 Exige and havent missed having the roof off at all.

And by the look of it the Lambo's roof is even more fiddly than the one on an S1 Elise which is saying something!

I saw a black (maybe anthracite) one on the road coming out of Nottingham - it looked amazing, even more road presence than the hardtop (which I wouldn't have thought was possible). Amazing looking cars.

Personally, if i had the money to be thinking about a £200k car, I'd already have something sporty I could use in the rain, so that issue wouldn't worry me. I do have a 340R though so am a bit daft.

Apologies for digging this thread back up...but, I was looking at the car mag's in the shop this morning to see if there was anything that looked interesting and on the cover of Max Power I noticed "Porsche, Bentley, Lambo, Ferrari, Merc, Rolls - the 18 yr-old with the £2m garage" So I had a flick through and sure enough it is this Ed guy. Strangely, the article uses a different surname for him and implies that he owns all the cars. (they are his father's from what he posted on here) Anyway, worth a look if you're passing the mag section

ok then guys shall we sort this all out for you all!!
the reason they used a different name was because he didnt want to to use his for security reasons, which im sure you can all appriecate!
he is insured on all of the cars and i am also very fortunate also to be able to drive a few of them, his dad hired mallory park last year and we took six of his cars and some friends came along with theres, heres what we took

Carrera GT
Lambo Merci Roadster
GT2
GT3
Ferrari 575M
Merc CLK DTM

as im sure you can imagine it was an unreal day having all those cars and an empty track, this year we are making plans to either go to nurburging or ascari with 3 or 4 cars and also decide on which track is next if any cause although his dad has done very well for himself he came from nothing built his companies up for scratch, he still appricates that £17000 to hire Donington park for the day is alot of money! so we'll have to wait and see! ed doesnt really come on here that much now but i mentioned that he is currently the talk of gassing and he's well chuffed and said that i can answer any questions you might have within reason!

so any questions guy's?

I saw a Murci Roadster in Nottingham when they were first launched, quite possibly the one owned by Ed's dad. It looked the bees knees and sounded divine!

Stin,

Thanks for the inside info about Ed. I did send him an e-mail from piston heads enquiring what the murcie roadster was like, but he hasn't replied as yet. If you could have a word with him and send me any feedback it'd be appreciated.

Had a quick flick thru max power this morning at the airport. Nice collection of cars for an 18 year old!! and to think i thought i was doing well at 19 with a 205 GTI!! (a long time ago though now!!)

thanks

andy.

To clear up, they are all my dads cars apart from the m3 but max power decided to twist the story to make it more interesting which i wasnt really bothered about but didnt know they were going to do it either. Started pissing it down on the day which was a nightmare for the murci roadster and GT as had to quickly assemble roofs on them both and as you are well aware the roadster is a bastard for that. Didnt want my picture in the article at all as i had pretty much just got out of bed but they insisted. Nevermind! Was happy with how the article turned out in the end. The article a few pages before with the girl on the roadster is our roadster too which was nice to watch at the photoshoot!

Murci roadster is a beauty to drive, was great round the track! E-gear is ok as long as its in sports mode, burn off mode is pretty cool the sound is amazing with the lack of roof, amazing car for a nice sunny day!

Polarbert, sounds like you have spotted the phantom about town, that is very nearly the correct number plate for it :P Nip down to our restaurant in West Bridgeford its called Fire & Ice and it opens this friday!! Im usually down there in one of the cars!

Cheers guys!
