If you drive some sort of exotica like a Ferrari , lambo etc , do you ever leave it anywhere !?
I used to drive an escort Cosworth many years ago when I didn’t know any better , and I was scared sh-tless to leave it anywhere . I had a snap off wheel but people used to scratch it, try and pinch it etc etc. So every time you came back to the car you were wondering what might have happened to it. It was just STRESS !
When you’re driving around in your 355 or your Aston Martin what’s people’s attitude towards you. Do people shout t0ser ?
I read on carsurvey.org one guy got a brick bounced up his 360 , I walked past a new 911 in Mayfair last month that had every panel keyed !
Hopefully in a couple of years I should be in a position to buy my boyhood dream car the F355 F1 , but I doubt I would want to leave it unattended for any amount of time!!

Yes - a difficult aspect of supercar ownership (for those of us who care) - personally I won't take the Murcie anywhere where I can't see it from the window - too many bad experiences and far too many jealous people around (wish there was more of a US "aspirational" culture here rather than one of jealousy).
I'm a little more tolerant with the Porsche - will take that most places and leave it in supervised car parks.
To be honest I wish I was LESS caring as it is stressful - we went to dinner with friends on Saturday - they were driving and were really relaxed about leaving their Bentley Conti GT parked on a back street in a fairly dodgy are of town (that's where this restaurant was) - I would not have been able to relax all night!!

Don't like leaving my Gallardo anywhere public full stop!! Even if I go to a restaurant where i can see it I'm on edge in case of some Jealous toe rag chav. My Girlfriend gives me s..t about it but at the end of the day its my npride and joy!! I had Porsches before 993GT2 etc I was the same with that. i put it down to having no kids and that my lambo is my baby!!

My g/f the same they just dont seem to understand that its more than " Just a car " its something we all have worked probably very hard for. I havent been keyed yet but i have been reversed into and they didnt even bother to move there car afterwards. For the first time ever of having this particular car i didnt have time to put it in the garage. So i left it on residents parking came home that night and saw one of my next door neighbours banged up old merc estate next to my car. I thought that must have been a very tight squeeze, upon further inspection they had back into me and push my rear bumper in and then just parked there car. They must have known they hit me but was there a note? Was there f%%k. It wasnt that visible and i put a note on there car saying i was about to sell it and if Porsche noticed it id be coming to see them about it. I left my number but they want even polite enough to ring and say sorry.
Porsche didnt notice it so it wasnt that much of a problem but when i move in about a months time I'm "Accidentally" going to back My removal lorry into there shitty merc. Problem is they probably wont notice.

Have not owned the Ferrari for long and this topic is something i really wanted to hear about.
My experiences, So far so good the only reactions i have had to the car is, other cars trying to glue themselves to the back bumper at the start of every dual carriageway,winding down their window as you go past to listen, sticky hand prints all over the windows where people peer into it when it is parked.. and always being let out of turnings and into traffic queues!
On another note i am still s**t scared to leave it anywhere i cannot see it, even my garage is alarmed and double bolted, and yes my wife gives me loads of grief "what are you worried about??" "its insured!" - Not the point.
Good luck with getting your 355 it will be worth every hard earned penny!

This to me is the down side of having a nice toy. The bikes are the biggest problem. If we are eating al fresco I will try and get the bike next to the table or vis-versa. The Audi is a few years old now but due to it's size I hate parking it in a typical british car park. The Smart is great you can park it literally anywhere and it probably gets as much attention as the bikes.
A good friend of mine had a 355 when they were new and would not park it anywhere in public. In the end he sold it as it was just too much stress.

i had a lotus elise and people left it alone i was a couple of years old at the time
my mate had a cossie and it was for ever getting damaged
i have a couple of mates with ferraris and porches and the havent sufferd any proplems ie if they go to the local pub or take a drive out to a country pub
i have had cars stolen and keyed in the past but my view is the better the car in status the less hassel

My biggest fear is supermarket carparks. I lost count of the amount of dents my Alfa GTV picked up from careless t*ssers opening their car doors into mine, and I've noticed that the Maser has now collected one or two dings also.
So now I either park well away from anyone else or, more commonly, just take the Clio out.
Generally speaking, I don't seem to get an adverse reaction to the maser from jo public, so not as worried about malicious damage as I might be were I a Ferrari owner.

I have had my old Porsche vandalised by the bin men in my own drive before and unluckily for them I saw them throw a bin at in so ran straight out and offered out about 5 bin men in a rage. I then took legal action against them and won, plus the guy got fired and I got a phone call from one of the Directors to apologise so was happy about that. I now have moved house and keep my 996 Turbo garaged. I had that broken into in Ascot train station car park a couple of months ago. They used a crow bar and really messed the car up - now I only leave it where I really have too as that left me out of pocket. I am toying with getting a 360 Spider this summer and I must say the biggest thing that puts me off is getting it vandalised, stollen and spat on with the roof down by other drivers.

We used to leave the Porsche everywhere (It's my bad memory you know!) without problems.
I still think it's a relatively understated car - idiots will always be instantly atracted to the likes of Lambo / Ferrari. (to damage - that was not a reference to the drivers!

Only cause for concern was overnight stops with on street parking, or hotels in the centre of town with no underground or restricted area.

My porsche GT3 got nicked from outside my house, my mini got broken into 3 days ago, again in front of my house
obviously depends where you live. I live in a very nice part of town (Blackheath) but unfortunately the surrounding areas leave somewhat to be desired. Having been a victim of crime, I don't take any liberties with leaving nice cars anywhere anymore - eventually you're just asking for trouble.

Bloody hell mate, thats very unlucky. I take it you don't keep your 430 at your home address? Did you ever find out what happened to the GT3? Stolen to order I presume?
One thing I didnt bargain on was the stress I have to deal with since buying my car.

I leave my 355 wherever I happen to be!
Don't get me wrong, owning a Ferrari was a boyhood dream and I love it to bits, but it's a car at the end of the day and replaceable. Treat it as such and you'll probably enjoy it more?
Only 'problem' I seem to have really, is cleaning off the masses of fingerprints I seem to accumulate! It's been the star of many photos though
