Just had the call from my dealer to finalise the spec on the above.

Nothing very original I'm afraid -

Rosso / Crema
Red Calipers
F1 gearbox
Red piping/stitching
Scuderia shields
6 CD player

I didn't go too mad but it's still come in at £7000 over my Gallardo - from what I hear it sounds like an awesome car - full report in June and comparison with the G car to follow. I'm alot more excited about this one than the Lambo for some reason, I've actually cleaned the garage in anticipation of it's arrival!

Lambojim - congrats on the purchase! Can I ask how long ago you put the order in on this? The wife's boss took delivery of his on Friday - he reckons he booked his slot 3 years in advance, but he's known to be slightly overflowing in bovine excrement. Had to say we did chuckle when he phoned in 20 minutes after peeling out the driveway to say he'd been detained by the police as they couldn't find him as the registered owner, and believed he'd stolen it

I actually called all the Ferrari main dealers and said that if they got any cancelled orders etc, they should give me a call as I'd give them the deposit there and then. I didn't really expect to hear anything (I was close to paying a certain Mr Hartley a juicy four figure premium actually...) but then I got a call from Maranello in St Albans - ......'cancelled order, has to be specced today , it'll be here in 2 and a half months, deal of a lifetime etc etc' - seemed fair to me!

The chap has gone for a Murcielago instead and I was top of the list to call. I know the official waiting list is still 3 years, so I'm very excited (and bloody pleased I made that phonecall).

No doubt they'll be available at list in 6 months time or so but to have it new, to my spec with zero miles - can't wait.

Tony,

I think I've seen your 355 on Lower Thames street some mornings so look out for the F430 going through the tunnel before the camera!

I understand that now parking sensors have just been added to the options list, nearly everyone is going for them? Did your dealer mention that?

Mine comes in April, I had a phone call last week though, saying the prices on all new Ferraris have gone up by 3K?, including mine, is this correct because ive not seen it published anywhere else?

Yep - that's right, there's been a £2600 increase in list price across the board.
I guess they are taking advantage of the demand and pushing their luck. I did have the rear parking sensors mentioned but didn't fancy them to be honest - I can't see me squeezing it into tiny spaces so I'll take my chances, I don't like the look of them either.

I should have added that the rear parking sensors are £715 and even the sales staff at Maranello admitted they 'didn't look the best on the car'.

Yep price increase was on 1 March. Are the parking sensors not the small circular type? Anyone go for bluetooth phone prep? The other one I am considering is the electric seats as they give height adjustment.

I did go for the electric seats (£1300 I think) - forgot to mention that.
The parking sensors aren't flush with the bumpers I don't think so they don't look too hot.
Each to their own I guess.

Did you get to see the parking sensors? If they are not flush then I dont want them, I assumed they would be though.

I didn't see them, no. The Salesman just warned me they were not as flush as the Porsche ones (I assumed they are pretty commission hungry normally, and would happily sell punters anything) so took his advice.

Interesting, I have just been sent a picture of them and they look ok. Also the seat stitching changed in November production.

How much are the Scuderia shields? I think they have to be the ultimate rip-off. Something like £1k on the 612.
