There's quite a few secure places in London.

When you say Central do you mean zone 1 / the city?

Prices vary's from £2000 per year upwards.

Thanks for that. I am in Islington at the moment but I will be in Clapham by the time I take delivery. What are your experiences with these secure places?

There is somewhere in W1 (central Mayfair) where various exotica park (not named as per Ted's policy) - I've seen F430, Gallado, SLR, Phantom, Vanquish etc. Sounds great and I live a few doors down, but every so often I hear a car being driven out of the garage, redlined down our road (small mews), turned around, redlined back down the road, turned around again... (repeat until bored) then quietly reversed back into the secure parking!

Now I'd guess this wasnt the owners making sure the cars were used or they wouldnt just be driving up and down one road in the middle of the night (redlining from cold) - so I'd say it was perhaps the people working at the car park! Who knows if they have permission, but the time/driving style makes me think perhaps not.

£1500 a quarter to park there.

I pay £600 in Pimlico for the resident's scheme run by Masterpark - mine's just about the crappest car in there as well.

Complete and utter bargain.

That sounds like a bargain, does it matter for insurance if the car is garaged at a significant distance from your residence??

A little bit off topic and not a criticism, I'm genuinely curious...what's the appeal of having a F430 in Central London?

I picked on the wrong guy to ask. I was hoping you were one of those who never leave the West End. Just never understood it. It's not even like there's any pose value in that part of the world. £100k+ cars are ten a penny.

If you're not going to use it in town, why not find somewhere convenient outside of the M25?

Keep mine near Chelsea Harbour, then it's straight down the M4 till Datchet, then you won't see me near a motorway again.

I was sitting in a Coffee shop in London with a few friends one day. One of them had parked his Lime Green Murci outside.

The other customers obviously took an interest and started asking the normal questions. What is it? How Fast? How much? What do you do? Is it your dads?

My friend answered them all, flipped the doors up, etc. However, this one older guy wouldn't leave him alone. Why did you buy that colour? Whats the point in having that in London? Why that colour?

After 20 mins of this, my friend who is normally a very down to Earth guy, got fed up. So he turned to him and said

"you want to know why???"
(guy looks at him expecting him to justify his decision)
"because I can!"

That shut him up.
