the missus is from sunny brighton so we go there often, have you ever been on the front when it's miserable? my car has never seen rain or sea salt from new afraid so that's how it's staying, he he he.

I'm coming over from Ireland to go to the Supercar Celebration and will be driving from central London on Saturday morning, hoping to get to Brighton for about 10 a.m. I've heard that the traffic can be bad and have been told that the drive can take up to 3 hours at the weekend. Can anyone corroborate this or give me any indication of how long the drive might take?
I live and work in Brighton. The A23 can be a nightmare on Saturdays. If you were to leave London at about 11am then I could easily see it taking 3 hours.

It shouldn't be too bad at all if you plan to arrive at 10am as the traffic's worst around midday. If you were to find yourself at the M23/M25 junction at 9am you should be able to make it to the Seafront in a little over an hour. (Less if you were in a Lambo!)

Andy. Shame on you, ya big wuss (just kidding!).
There's 5 of us coming down in convoy Friday afternoon (anyone on the M40 around 5 o'clock will easily spot us, 4 G's and a Murci). Needless to say all 5 of us were also getting wet at Bolton Abbey 2 weeks ago, stoically milling about with damp feet and frosty spouses!
I do hope the weather's a bit better for this gig, though. Not for my benefit, you understand, but for everyone else's, obviously (back pedal, back pedal!).

Thanks dan and tomtom for your replies.
I think going at a bit before 8 am should see me there in good time.

The forecsst has changed somewhat (bleedin Met Office!) so fingers crossed we'll both be there in the Lambos

Not too bothered about the odd shower but if its hacking down I won't bother going.

P.S. Justin wants to know why you're always posting on here

Looking forward to it, Andy. SVs are cool. Yellow ones are coolest. I was after one, then got sidetracked and ordered a Gallardo instead. At least it's yellow!

would like to watch the gathering at Brooklands on Saturday morning

is this going to be freely open to the public just to come and watch? (inside Brooklands, I know I can stand outside and watch them leave!)

what time is the convoy setting off?

thanks

I think the entrance to Brooklands is £5.00 per person (possibly per car, not to sure). Best bet is to e-mail the Lamborghini Club for confirmation.
I am going but I have a pass as I am photographing on behalf of the club.
