Thanks for the input so far.997 turbo-yes very fast but my problem with the 997 is it just doesnt feel special enough for the money.Too be honest im not really a balls out merchant, just like cruising around so turbo would not do anything for me that I cannot do in the 997s.Also it has to be a soft top(too make the most of the little good weather in the UK!)I have thought about the gallardo and although it is a great car-its not for me.My other question is F1 or not.Ive seen nearly new 430 spiders manual £135k,F1 155k.Seems a lot extra to me.Is it worth it and will I recoup the extra cash come resale time???

If you're serious you should make me an offer on mine - Rosso Corsa/Crema F1 Spider. Just going in for the 6250m service, 2 new rears, and a front (chips) respray. Should look good as new when finished.

Thanks but im looking for a delivery mileage car.I will probably put a wanted ad in the Sunday Times, failing that a friend is trading his 1000 mile 430 coupe F1 for a 430 F1 spider at christmas so may wait and see how much he gets offered as p/x and if the price is right take it off him

Thought I would join in on theis debate.
Read this months motoring magazines, 2006 Gallardo beats 430 and spanks the 997 turbo.
The deprecitaition problem with the Gallardo coupe was due to Lambo producing these on the production lines, thus over supply.
The spiders are built to order. Anyone who says the premium on a Gallardo is £8k are talking from their rear end. look at £15K plus at least.
Point no 2. Lambo wycombe has fixed price serviving for the Gallardo. £700 small service and £1500 for the large one. Most importantly no cambelt changes are required as it's chain drive.
Point no 3. Beauty contest and rareability the Gallardo wins hands down.
So guess which one of these beauties I have ordered.
I can tell you now, I've drive a 430 and was impressed, I've driven a pre 2006 Lambo and was as impressed. But now Lambo have upgraded the 2006 car by at least 30%. If you search the web it even embarrassed the Murch....

Ez.

I have never read any articles stating that the 2006 Gallardo beats the F430. Evo did say it was more special than a 997 Turbo.

All Gallardos other than a few demonstrators have been built to customer order.

F430s also have chain-driven cams.

Hard to quantify the improvements for the 2006 Gallardo as being 30%-worth, but yes it's better than early ones, particularly in steering and gearing.

I also think the Gallardo Spider is better looking than the F430 Spider, but I am still buying an F430 Spider...

BTW Will, my supplier can probably get you a low mileage F430 Spider at near-list price now. Are you interested? If so email me.

my sentiments exactly. i sold my 360 spyder with the intention of getting the 430 spyder but after seeing it in the flesh its just not a coherent shape. great drive but you've got to drool over a car when spending this much. therefore i am buying my first lamborghini...a new gallardo spyder because there isnt one thing i would change on the car....well apart from having a glass engine cover which isnt available....its perfect! roll on the first week of august!
