Just be prepared to work damn hard.

Interesting quote I once picked up:

"Inverment bankers earn a lot... But it's the entrpreneures and business owners who they work for that make more"

A close relative of mine is a Director at a well known (read huge) bank in the city.

Her advice to me:

"If you want to own a ferrari by the time you're 30 (i'm 19 at uni... meaning 8 years after uni), become a trader."

All depends on the desk you work for and what you trade. Trading the plain vanilla stuff doesn't pay what it used to.

The most recent get rich quick scheme was IT contracting but that has taken a bath as well.

Not trying to put you off but the days when there were loads of traders and they all made good money are long gone.

Really ? Just look round the square mile if you want to see new GT3,360 or more exotica.

Still has to be the easiest place to earn 6-7 figure salaries where you can just walk away if it doexn't work out.

It really does look great!
