Can anyone remember which issue had the test of Daytona vs 365bb? Was it March 2001?
merci d'avance.

Sorry, no, but can I ask how your BB is going?

I thought you'd never ask.
It's, well, fabulous. It's also scarily expensive.
I'm in love with it, but slightly worried that it's going to beat me up.
One hundred litres of petrol gets me about 250 miles of illegal fun. The last service cost 3.5k.
It's the most beautiful man-made thing I've ever seen (although the Forth rail bridge runs it close). It has a voice the like of which I've never heard. A low, low grumbling a mile-wide which soars through heavenly harmonies to the purest of howls.
People seem so thrilled to see it. Even here, where cars are only ever basic transport, people wave their arms like nutters trying to get me to rev it – and when I do they’re then more than likely to start punching each-other through sheer excitement.
I’d read all about the ‘high c. of g. / mid-engine’ – related dangers, but really I haven’t had any such problems. The steering is so direct, so linear, that I feel it’ll help me through just about anything. Having said this, I do take things pretty gingerly on roads I don’t know.
I still don’t know if it’ll really do 188, like it says in the book, but with mornings getting light much earlier now it’s only a matter of time…I think it might.
It uses quite a lot of oil (I had rather a big scare the other day when I checked it on a slope and the dipstick was dry), the temperature gauges don’t work until there’s something to work on. It’s perfect.
My wife finds the seats uncomfortable on long journeys, and has started hinting that we might not, after all, be able to keep it forever and hand down to one of any kids we might have. Luckily, I’m a past master at subtly changing the conversation.
What’s for supper, Darling?

Thanks for that, I have to agree the 12 cylinder Ferraris all sound awesome, with the 180degree V12 in the Boxer being one of the best.

A service cost £3.5K I hope it was more than just a regular service!
