And when you say you'll never sell it and it's in a magazine.... then someone offers you lots and lots of money..... sometimes you give in....

I love the Countach, what are they actually like to drive though, I've always worried that should I ever be lucky enough to own one that it will be a massive dissapointment.

I actually had to buy mine without ever driving one and I've got to say it wasn't a disappointment. Make the leap of faith and it's awsome. After all you wouldn't expect a car that looks like that to be easy to drive. It also saves on going down the gym!

depends what you've driven before, a qv feels fairly quick, the gears, steering and clutch are heavy (mine were). i used it on a few trackdays and it feels good when everything all comes together. i'm no track god but i was running with m3's etc. dave pinkney the touring car driver has one and once told me the countach was a great handling car. visibility is poor through the side and rear but it still feels special, you get plenty of looks. downside everyone asks "is it a kit mate".

If you grab a Countach by the throat and really drive it, be agressive on the brakes into corners to get some weight on top the skinny front tyres and wait till you can roll all the power in they are fantastic fun, more classic 60/70's than 80's handling, but always put a smile on my face.

If you try and drive slowly and carefully... they can be a right pain with jumpy inital throttle and everything so heavy there isn't much feel.

They work best on the French counrty roads if you ever get the chance!

for anyone that has a countach, for your info i upgraded my discs to a grooved type made for me by tarox also i had adjustable suspension all round made by spax. both suppliers were keen to get into the lambo aftermarket. and these were much less ££'s than lambo parts.

I got tarox to make the same grooved discs for my Murcie. Tarox = £1500 a set. Lamborghini = £5000 a set. They have the pattern now and are able to supply to anyone

Does it make big difference on the Countach. The brakes seem to be, lots of travel, not alot of action.....I'm assuming that's normal?

after the discs we fitted braided brake lines and race spec fluid, i would guess the mods made the braking 20% better.
i wish i had pics to post but i havn't got any.
the spax shocks were a similar improvement and were fully adjustable, plus they were a great company to deal with(spax).

Just found this after typing the registration in. My Godparents owned this car in Circa 1996, I even had to give up my Car Capers game from Christmas as it had their car in it!! Lovely car, which lived in a Heated, Dehumidified Garage on a trickle charger. Goodwood Festival of Speed I was the passenger to and from as a young lad, loved it! Glad to see its still being cherish
