I like the Gallardo more and more...

If only it had scissor doors it would be perfect. Really think Lambos MUST have scissor doors. It's their trademark.

Oh well, fantastic car all the same!

Ok, I retract my 'looks like a Celica' jibe.

As with the Murcielago, physical proximity or high res piccie exposure in realistic situations rather convey the shocking imapct most emphatically.

It is quite wonderful. I'm not sure it needs scissor doors (baby Lambos of yore didn't {Uracco, etc}) and neither am I sure whether it will kill the F360, along with the baby Aston, too. However, it's bound to have an effect.

Oh bollocks, it still looks just like a bloody Celica! But now I reckon it's marvellous!

Yep, fletch has put an order in for one, and I'm waiting to see it in the flesh before I decide on that car or the Murci. Won't get excited just yet though, coz I won't see it until sometime next year, assuming I can get some near to reasonable insurance quotes.

Am certainly looking forward to seeing the cars when they arrive next month.

IMHO I think the Gallardo is beautiful, but its still nothing on the Murcielago. But then again I haven't seen one in the flesh yet... I'm sure one will poot around Kensington & Chelsea soon enough

I cant help but think that the Gallardo is a much better car than the Murcielago realistically. Having seen two Murci's on the road I cant believe that they are much fun on most UK roads because of thier size. The Gallardo seems alot more tight and IMHO should be alot more useable on the road.

That said a Murci looks f'kin awesome in the flesh and im sure the sheer size of it is part of the whole lambo "presence". Surely a 500bhp 4wd Gallardo which isnt actually too big for normal roads would be quite a weapon on most B-roads. I should think it may actually be faster point to point than a murci.

On track it might be different of course - but then again im yet to see a Murci going round track against the clock properly. The Top Gear effort was pants, there is no way a Alpina BMW Z8 thing can get round quicker than a car with much more pace (straight line and cornering).

The Gallardo to me looks like Lambo shooting themselves in the foot. It seems to be more affordable, exploitable and practical yet its just as fast as its bigger brother?!!

Good point, but heck if you drive a Lambo your entitled to take up as much space as you want

Ninja I hate you, you git, while at the same time demanding to be the first (OK, male) passenger in your Lambo when it inevitbaly arrives. Looks like I'm going Japanese personally....

I placed my order a while back. The second time I saw it at the 40th in Italy I really began to properly fall in love. I can't wait until July when the dealer hopes to have some preview cars so I can finalise my specification.

Yellow looks great on the Murciélago but I'm not so sure it looks as good on the Gallardo.I was going to go metallic black. Although, now I've seen the pictures posted here, I'm tempted to change my mind again.

Fletch has ordered one. Any idea what you are going to go for?

Anyone else out there?

Still havent made my mind up 100%. It will either be yellow or black, but need to see it in the flesh again to make up my mind.

Black looks mean, but the yellow one at the Geneva show looked very nice indeed, so it will probably be a yellow one with black leather and yellow stitching.

Unsure whether to get the clear engine cover, but one thing I do know its definetely a Manual - none of this egear nonsense

Fletch

I agree with you on the e_gear. How were you dealt with on this question? Did you have any resistance to your opinion from the dealer? I would have thought that there might be some pressure to conform to the new technology (Small manufacturer, componant costs cheaper the more they buy etc.etc) There wasn't any "leading" from them when I spoke to them I'm glad to say. If the manual transmission on the Murciélago is anything to go by, why would you want anything else? It is wonderfull.

Hi Claude

The dealer didnt really have much to say on the subject apart from offering it if I was interested. They certainly didnt try to push the option as something that I should have.

I agree about the gearbox on the Murcielago, its very good, but Im biased because I think the Murcielago is fantastic

I think the car looks stunning!
I am tempted to hire a plane and drop the 360 into the sea from a great height at the moment. Soooo tempted....

The Murci looks too big for me to drive around and about. The Gallardo will also fit in my parking spaces mmmmm

Hi Steve,

What are you getting then? I'm thinking you've gone with an RX7?? Come on, speak up!! Don't tell me you've got a Skyline with some mad power upgrades? You know I love 600BHP plus...

Re the Lambo cars, still can't get too excited as the insurance is looking to be a bit of a nightmare for the Murci: all in all I *might* have one by March next year if I take the Murci, sooner if I take the Gallardo. I can move my deposit around and delay production, so its just a matter of time (assuming I don't go bankrupt).

Really fancy the Gallardo more each time I see pictures of it too, due to its size and sensible clutch placement.

Rich, is the 360 that bad??? Bloody hell mate!

I've been smitten by the idea of running something gorgeous, bulletproof and depreciation free(ish), so I'm on the lookout for a nice sensibly priced NSX, manual in red with black leather and late model BBS alloys (hate the original 5 spokers). Nice.
Of course this means that when I do finally sell the Chimaera I'll probably rush out and by a Mondial or something
How's the 'rari? My hearings still fcuked from last time I saw you!

Trackdemon, I have just driven past a red NSX at what was once a Honda main dealer in Southend. I will try and find the number if you want.
