Capable as the 996TT is, it ain't pretty.

Then again, I think the 360's a bit teutonic too.

The 996TT also doesn't sound very nice.

All subjective items, but most cars at this level are very subjective items.

Saw a new Bentley test car on the M1 Southbound last Sunday. Looks like a Hyundai from the rear. Most disappointing.

Not a complete Porsche kill joy - 2.7RS' are beautiful cars, as are some of the 993 models.

Having been in the position to own a 911 Turbo and a 360 Spider at the same time. I feel both cars are so completley different in excecution and approach. The 996TT is reliable, flattering to drive, very very fast, and is a tad more subtle that the 360. The 360 is flair and excitement in metal. A little more awkward to drive but it looks and sounds (with Tubi) awesome. I sold mine on Saturday, have regretted it every second, but having had a few problems with it and the fact that I only seem to drive it once a month ( I always choose the Porca. Oh and I am working abroad at the moment and cant see me adding the miles to the 360 without killing the car.

Jason, good to see you again. Sorry I had to dash. I was only back for 12 hours.

The Gallardo IMHO looks great, but as soon as i came back to home after selling the 360, I repeatedly saw an orange Murc, and I am sure it must be fate :-). I am so impressed with is massive presence on the road. It may be too large for me but I intend to take a look more closely at them now. If the owner of the orange Murc in Southend is on here then huge thumbs up!!

sure, they are very different but I think they're in the same class.

As you say, i guess it depends what you want to use the car for. Maybe the 360 is more of an "event" but real-world the 996 would be the one for me.

Murc - too big I reckon. Get a Gallardo - it'll be reliable cos the germans are probably sniffering around the Italians : "ACHTUNG ACHTUNG DO NOT USE ZE BLACK SPOOR MOLE GRIPS ON ZE TITANIUM NUTS. PLEEZE USE ZE SNAP ON PROVIDED - WE HAVE VAYS OF MAKING YOU TORQUE"

well just returned from a very successful 'buesiness' trip to Italy...ahem.... always so fortunate I have to go out there a fair bit!

Anjum......I have now cancelled my order for the standard 'launch' Gallardo...... I know this will interest you as our views on the diablo/murci seem to match fairly closely.... have been told to say nothing, but other versions and all that....

Quick few thoughts from a weeks playing...

sound : v quiet at lower speeds compared to the 12, but when you nail it abover 70ish, it does howl. less irritating (IMO) than the 360. Nice, but notitnh like Viper V10 oddly (considering Lambo built that orgiinally)
drive : superb...EVO are right...sorry Derestrictor, cant agree. This is moving the game forward another step in my eyes...

thats it...too tired to write more!

Don't mention the 2 wheel drive option - or the mono marque race series to replace the GTR SuperTrophy.....

So what are you after now then nightmare?

I'm kinda unsure - so I'll playing with P1 for a bit...

well I thought the "torque - talk" joke was worth at least one lol - I guess I must have offended all the 360 owners too much!
