Espada?

Perhaps not this one, considering where she parks it.

Yes, I'd love to Craig, its a truly beautiful car. Sadly, a recent acquisition is going to be a bit of a money pit for spare funds for the forseeable future

Drop me a mail and I'll give you more information - you just may be interested.....

selling advice please chums....

Firstly...I realise this sounds ridiculous but its ages since I sold a car privately..hence..

Spoke to a very nice chap who is coming to see the dancing donkey this evening....

..How cheap should I let it go? He knows I've said on here that I'd take an offer over £27,500 (which I've been bid as a part ex & which it sounds like the level he'd pay)

He's the first person to see the car, ad out in autotrader & topmarques this week(is on the websites already) and I've had about 5 calls already but they can't come until weekend.

I think I'd be happy at around £29k as I need to fund new purchase, car looks better than ever and still only has approx 16k miles on it, for similar money the cars I see advertised are all not GTS models ie ts, all generally are about 4 yrs older and with about 3times the mileage)

Support and opinions needed please..

Craig,
You have a beautiful motor judging by the pics, and it's history and service records are as we all know by the way you treat the car impeccable.

Other GTs / GTB's I've seen (even LHD) are usually all advertised over 30k - so I'd stick to your guns somewhat. Obviously you don't want to take the mic (on autotrader there are some people who think a 1990 TS with 30k kms is worth 50k!!!) - but you shouldn't sell the car short. I'd say 30k bottom line....

I tend to sell most of my cars privately,,,i make sure they are polished, clean inside, long mot & tax.
Have all documentation up to date and preferably a recent HPI showing the car is clean.
having done the above ,you have it all ready to go...it is now down to the buyer. For a specialist car such as yours the buyer has to be on for the purchase.
What i aimply by that is that knocking the price down, should not be too much of an issue. If the buyer is looking for a lhd 348 GTS in the right colour with sensible miles, then he will buy it.
If he is the right guy,,how long is it going to be,before he finds another car to compare with.
If the guy is kicking tyres then he may not even buy it for a sily low price of say £25k.
Wait to see the buyers reaction to the car,,,if he is interested, and the car is spot on with nothing for him do sort out on it,then the ball is in his court.
i always have a small say £250 I am prepared to come down for a buyer as this smooths the deal and a buyer always feels better if they have got some money off of a purchase.

For a car like a ferrari anyone offering silly low money is not interested, as we both know a serious buyer wants a well cared for car as a couple of grand will soon disappear on a sub standard cheap car getting it right.

thanks guys, much appreciated as always.

The other annoying thing that I have just realised is that I'm not "supposed" to sell the car if I want to keep my cheapo cherished plate, apparently it can take up to 3/4wks for dvla to issue a new plate, anyone know any ways around this ?

I dont know about putting a reg no on retention. but when i swapped the reg from the taz racer to the chimaera it took a total of 1 hour and 80 quid. phone your local dvla office and they should be able to do it while you wait .

i think its because I'm taking it off the car and not immediately putting it on another.

Think I may have sold the Fcar though, the chap who came to see it last night left a deposit.

Nice one Craig....i would be confident the sale will go through as it was a very fair price for a lot of car....shame to see the 348 go....but it should be fun finding the right Maser.
