- tyre pressures and most importantly condition.
- engine fluid levels.
- BRAKES; condition of pad, disks and fluid
- make sure nothing loose externally (travelling at high speed will detach anything not nailed down as the Porker crew discovered ).
Seems like good advice, cheers! Off to buy pressure gauge and a pump at lunch then
With regards to wings etc, my BMW GT handbook states that having the front splitter fully extended and the rear gurney strips attached will knock 18mph off the top speed of the car and have a significant impact on fuel economy.
As long as there is no real crosswind, stability shouldn't be an issue.

The wings in earlier Diablo create drag - and a little downforce.
In latter SV models there was an adjustable flap which at high speeds (180+) definatley made a difference.
My (ex) 6.0 didn't have one - and handled superbly - althougn my eyeballs where shaken out of their sockets above (an idicated) 200+ mph
If you look at the profile of the GT racers from the Supertrophy series - you'll see the profile of the spoiler is visibly different to the spoilers available on the road cars.
Lamborghini do not approve of the rear "Dan Dare" spoilers - but can't resisit selling them at £5K a pop!
Tony - take it off (but check the holes out!)
Enjoy!

Contemporary tests of the Countach and the Pantera GT5-S, which have nearly the same wing, indicated that there was at least some drop in maximum speed with the wing installed, which indicates an increase in resistance. In the case of the GT5-S, I've read conflicting articles by respected drivers who argue that the car felt unstable at high speeds without the wing, and others who claim just as fervently that the removal made no difference.
In the interest of experimentation, could you make a few runs with and without the wing to see if there is any numerical and/or "seat-of-the-pants" difference?
