Could give some lame excuse about the wife wanting a new house and so profligate spending on such events is out at present, but as the list of things I am already doing next year includes Skiing, football tours, golf etc. I have to earn some credits by turning down such opportunities. (although I am still coming to watch!)

**************** Some Details ******************

Times:
Will probably aim to kick off about 9.30 with a short safety briefing, signing of disclaimers and a drive around. Will be winding up around 4-5ish depending on how we are going.

Directions: It is bruntingthorpe proving ground in Leicestershire (off M1) see map here:

www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&db=hcgaz&addr1=&client=public&addr2=&advanced=&addr3=&pc=&X=460267&quicksearch=bruntingthorpe&Y=290092&scale=100000&cidr_client=none&place=Bruntingthorpe,Leicestershire&coordsys=gb

Safety:
This is a private booking so helmets are optional, you will be asked to sign a disclaimer BEFORE driving. Please be sensible, we dont want any accidents. Whilst we are there to have a LOT of fun and some VERY high speeds please be aware of others, and your own, and your vehicles limits. If the track is wet take your first few runs very cautiously until used to braking distances etc. Ask Tony 996 if you need verification of this

Spectators:
Very welcome, no charge, you may be asked to do a spot of marshalling (nothing too taxing). Please be very cautious when on the track (ie waiting areas) as cars may be coming up very quickly behind you. Non driving cars (ie non paying), please observe a 30mph speed limit and keep to the left.

Checks:
Check your cars over fully the day before, fluid levels, tyre pressures & condition. Make sure the car is clean as this makes it go a lot faster, its true its true!

Paying:
Will know final cost in the next day or so, is looking like it might dip just under £150 per car. Those who have paid full amount will be reimbursed. Anyone who hasnt paid in full/deposit please bring cash on the day.

One more thing, it can get very very cold there so wrap up warm.

Any more questions ladies & gents ?

... after your exploits with the last motor, I've found you another bit of rear engined, open top, Italian exotica.

This will probably get you around Le Mans as quick as your last one!

... not sure about Brunters though, although probably quicker than Jarrod's M3.

The following Streetmap may also be useful as it shows the Proving Ground itself (sorry Craig):

www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=460500&y=289500&z=3&sv=460500,289500&st=4&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf

Note of you are approaching from M1 J20/A426/A5199/A4304, the road you approach the proving ground is the yellow one in the top right square - the entrace (I think) is the little white road in the same square as the top of "89"

If reality overtakes bravado (which it would) I would be looking at a Thiel style respray and windscreen. So I will wait until Brunters IV and take my chance. Nice try thought.

one more thing chaps, take it easy on the way there. its not unknown for the BiB to read these posts and lie in wait. Believe me you'll have ample opportunity to stretch your car's legs when we get there!

ps, potential spectators - YES YOU CAN COME, STOP EMAILING ME! NO CHARGE ALTHOUGH I MIGHT START CONSIDERING LOSS OF EARNINGS SOON!

ps, joking aside, I have had quite a few emails from potential spectators, please adhere to the rules above when you arrive. I dont want any problems on the day.
cheers!

True, I assume that spectators will go to the waiting area parallel to the runway,
which means, in order to get there from the car park, they'll need to use the track....
from memory the likes of Dazren, Joust and probably quite a few other were throwing
their machinery into those corners at well above the motorway speed limit....
could be interesting if Dazren is just showing someone how good the PSM is when... ...
who put that 30mph moving chicane there???
