I was in London today and we pasted this Ferrari being trailered somewhere, wound down the window to speak to the driver of the van towing it, he said it was a Le Mans car but I forgot the rest. I tried to Google it but had little success.

Please excuse the poor photographs off my phone.

Anyone know?

Looks like the 250 TR - I agree.

A beautiful car, but on an open trailor? Very brave!

Thanks Mitch.

Number plate MO 1520... Modena plate?

A little out of my price range!

Modena plate, yes. Values vary with history, but based on the price that this example may fetch I'd say all 250TRs are out of most folks' price range! I believe there may be some 'recreations' which are authentic copies made with Ferrari parts, but aren't original examples. These are worth less but still hundreds of thousands!

Cant imagine it will be a 250TR on an open trailer - It is not very secure by the look of it.Surely insurance company would mant something of that value on a covered trailer.Replica anyone?

Looks a pretty convincing replica, especially with that plate on it. Even so, it doesn't look too healthy being tethered by the whell hubs - but then what do I know.

Certainly could be a 'recreation', as is the official term for an authentic 'copy' made with genuine parts. Even those are worth hundreds of thousands though. If it really is just a replica then it's a damn fine one!

I agree, it could be and most lightly a reproduction. Usually made from a donor Ferrari such as a 330, among others that are butchered to make one.

That was one of the first things I noticed too. I used to work in a car-transport environment and to "strap" a car in this method is just daft. I don`t think it could be a real example on this basis alone - unless the owner/seller/whatever was mentally unhinged.

Looks more like a repossession to me laugh. But then again, it is being driven through the genteel suburb of Hampstead smile

Yep, helps the driver place the car more accuratley on the apex of the corner and as most courses run clockwise the theory is you spend more time turning right than left biggrin

That looks like classic 'auction house' internal transport to me... Does anyone know if this car has recently been through the major auction houses?

Surprised about the way that is being transported considered its value, looks nice though!

Slightly OT - but this is a nice 250TR which will soon be at auction
