Hello fellow 3200 enthousiasts,

A friend of mine bought a 3200gt 3 months ago which has proven to be quite a troublesome car. The local shop is trying very hard but they can't solve our problem. The doors wont open with the remote and the windows wont go down an inch when you open the door. They tried to obtain a manual but they were charged over 600 euro's for it. And since this is the only 3200 they know they refused. I hope you guys can help me since we dont even have the owners manual to check the fuses.

Kind regards,

Rik

The manuals will not cure your problem. Your key and car code have gone out of sync possibly due to having pressed the key remote more than 14 times whitout being in range of the car or when the key fob battery is dead. This can only be rectified by main dealers sending both the red key and the cade box from the car to Maserati UK and getting them to re sync them. The other alternative is to get new locks, keys, and code box which will amount to several thousands.

Thanks 3200gt for your reply,

The thing is, i see the indicator lights flash when i press the key so the alarm is responding and goes on and off. Also i can open the trunk with the key. Only thing is the doors wont lock/unlock so i thought it might be an electrical issue with power supply to the central locking motors in the doors that might also effect the windows not opening.

Kind regars,

Rik

Thanks alot 3200gt, i got it.

I'll post a message when we find the problem. Perhaps its the key or something simple as a blown fuse. Either way we got a better chance at fixing it now thanks to you.

Kind regards,

Rik

Update:

I found the problem today! Thanks to your manual i was able to check the wiring from the door/window locking module. The wiring was fine but somehow there is a slight water leak or something that caused the window/door locking module to oxidize inside. This burned 2 small lines on the circuit board. I was able to repair them using a special wiring repair paint. After a couple of hours I tried the module and now the doors unlock and the windows go down when opening the doors. Again, thank you very much!

Guys, i've just bought myself a 3200gt. Was having a good look round inside and discovered some wires under the passenger chair that didn't seem to be attached....

I was wondering if the very kind 3200GT could send me the manual link so i can try and work out what they are for.

Much appreciated

Mark

Mark,
Don't worry, they are for heated and memory seats which I bet you don't have. So long as the passenger seat does what its supposed to no need to worry.
I'll send you a link with for the manual download via your email address.

Hi Guys,

Just got myself 2001 model year 3200gt. However, there are some indicator lights from the instrument panel. The original manual is missing. Would very much appreciate it if any of you guys here are able to email a copy. It would be of great help. Thanks!

If you let us know which instrument panel lights are causing a problem I will have a look in my owners manual and advise what it says. I dont have an electronic copy of the owners manual only the workshop manual and parts number manual.

Hi 3200GT. Would you please send me a link or a copy of the Maserati Manual. I just bought one last week and there is a smell of petrol and a clicking sound on the front right wheel when I apply the brakes. I really appreciate this.
Best regards, Paul (SA).
