shoebag: Can I ask why you went for one over a Zonda? I'd easily choose one over a Zonda but a lot of others wouldn't.
It was a combination of things. After seeing the Koenigsegg on Top Gear I liked what Koenigsegg stood for i.e the non-conformist styling and the fact they held the fastest production car record (at the time.) I like the fact Koenigsegg was a family run business succeeding in producing a car that looked so totally different. I guess it appealed to my eccentric nature. Also the timing played a part in me buying the CCR as I heard it was for sale through a friend. If I had unlimited funds a Zonda would be in my collection but there would still be a few other cars I would buy first before a Zonda i.e the Saleen S7 TT and a Gumpert.

Shame it's not one of those that we have in common.
I'd love to see it sometime.
How is the other?
My Viper is still out in Baltimore all repaired and in storage. Going to use it for abit of a roadtrip out there and then bring it home again. Snakey is my favourite out of all of my cars and like the Diablo it is a keeper.I'd love to see it sometime.
How is the other?

Boring question alert...
Aside form pictures, I've never seen one... what are the fit and finish like on these things..?
Evo done a supercar issue and the Koenigseg was flamed for its build quality and servicing costs. New models are supposed to be allot better and do come with a 5 year warranty though. There is chap that posts on here(Northo?) who ran one for Rio Prestige supercar hire and i am sure he also mentioned massive bills.Aside form pictures, I've never seen one... what are the fit and finish like on these things..?
Great looking cars that make junior supercars seem slow.

Christian, Tommy and the factory looked after the car really well, but the purple CC8S was one of the very first cars - the new ones are much improved in terms of build quality. They are awesome machines, and even though my head always says Zonda, my heart says Koenigsegg . The EVO article was re-hashed in The Sunday Times, but I do think that many of those commenting have a vested interest in bigging up the cars they had in stock..... That said, as an investment the Koenigsegg is not at the top of the pile.
Shoebag's car is Ninja Green, for any bike enthusiasts out there.

That's what I though... they were very harsh on the Egg and even borderline factually worng in saying it didn't create a name for itself... look at all the publications and websites over thw eorkd and see Koenigsegg mentioned in one breath with Zonda, Lambo et al - not bad for a startup from Scandinavia...I think the Koeningsegg has a sense of purposefulness that no one else in the hypercar segment offers in quite this way - the Scandinavian 'cool' factor I guess embodied by the persona of its creator. It's the uncompromising, bold but effective, functional jet fighter next to other brands' 'luxury' appointed private jets and loud 'n lairy drama queens.

With the Diablo the sensation of speed feels different to the Egg. You know at 140mph in the Diablo you can accelerate away from other cars but in the Egg you have a sense that you are being propelled in a warp speed stealth kind of way. It almost feels unreal.
