Ninja... (hey mate )
I disagree about the size of the Gallardo's cabin When i sat in their demonstrator I felt it was quite roomy. It definitely feels roomy as the bottom of the windshield is quite far away.
I've included a photo of me. I'm 6ft 2, 33in inside leg, about 15stone so im no rake!
Edited to say but yes there isn't all that much luggage space. BUT WHO CARES?????

Yessir Mungo!
If I can talk myself into it...
Ninja,
Hi there! I don't think the cabin size is entirely a question of dimensions. It's the impression you get - or the way it feels. I can't explain this very well, but I suppose it all comes down to a car feeling 'right' for a driver - and there's no logic in it!
Agree with what you say about the 996TT, but I think I need a change - how perverse can you get!
rico
That's a very useful photo, and I'm much smaller than you! About 5'9 and still at my schoolboy weight. My main problem is the lack of a backside, which may explain my difficulty with German seats, and I have to raise the seat to see out. Longish legs, shortish torso. Never a problem with Ferrari seats - they always seemed perfect.
Try before you buy!!

Mate no worries about the photos. If you want some bigger versions drop me a mail from my profile. I've got some shots of a mate sitting taken from a different angle and some exterior shots and of course the obligatory engine shot
When i was there, a smaller guy was checking it out and he said how comfortable the seats were.
I can only recommend finding one and having a seat and of course give it some gas out on the tarmac

rico,
Many thanks indeed for the offer, but I think the only answer at this stage is to try one, explore all the possibilities (and there are some interesting ones), and then...decision time.
I'd be interested to see what you think. I was fortunate enough to drive one at the weekend whilst down at Verdi's, courtesy of a very generous owner, who I cannot thank enough. I must admit, it did not bowl me over. The owner has a 360 as well, which he prefers. The cabin is cosy as has been stated but ok for anyone around the 6ft mark. The one I drove was a LHD manual and the gearbox felt really good. Considering the extensive use of Audi bits I actually was disappointed with the interior as somehow it just didn't seem to have an Audi quality feel.

Have to admit, I thought "Celica" when I saw it in silver.
Think the rear's more new MR2.
When you think of the bounds that the Lambo designers have to work within (i.e. none other than type approval and chassis/engine), I think the Gallardo's a bit of a shame.
The Murci's great, though the blisters on the lower intakes could have been better.
The sky blue treatment actually works, just about. Lambos are meant to be in your face aggressive I think. Different rear lights, and beetle-wing doors would have made all the difference.

Mungo,
Thanks for that - will buy a copy tomorrow!
Ian.
I think he's leading me astray!
McNab - you only have to worry about Mungo if he professes undying "lurvvvveee" before he makes any other statements
By the way - I had a chance to take a look at one of these machines up close not too long ago and... not bad at all. Although since I prefer my cars British and my food Italian, I think I will pass. It is very tempting. If Lotus doesn't make a replacement Esprit or Aston mucks up the production version of the AMV8, I may give it another look. But then again there is the Ford GT that should be sub - $100,000US in a few years as well, soooooo.... decisions, decisions.
...My advice - drive what you want until they rip the license from your hands.
Cheers

Cheers Ernest!
The whole thing's on hold right now thanks to the shock of a mad proposal from the faceless goons who run this world.
Informed a couple of days ago that they intend to reroute the National Grid through my fields alongside my house.
55 metre pylons every 300 metres across one of the most beautiful valleys in the country.
The whole district is in an uproar, so cars and other delights will just have to wait until we get this stopped!
Letters to MPs and newspapers and every man and his dog are keeping me busy!
