I'd be delighted to call into Cafe Thomas enroute. Gives me an excuse to travel up earlier with no traffic on the roads.

Oh dear........

No worries mate. Be great to see you.

Rumour has it you're turning up in some convertible or other, Darren - can you confirm?

I was thinking of going as a spectator and having the time to search for my third ever Brunters passenger ride (hence gentle drive up in a convertible). However Craig is running this event as a driver and passenger only event so I have booked in and will drive Ze Beast instead, who is currently sulking because it's not going to Nurburg this year,

It also wants some new discs and pads before going over to Europe to play Eurohoon in septmeber, so we've come to an agreement that Beast can come and play with it's mates again at Brunters and can also have some new discs and pads earlier than would otherwise happen.

Pity my T350 won't be fully run in by then (hopefully just past 1,000 service, but not fully thrashable really). I'd love to see how a std T350 does against some of that machinery.

Oh well, I'm hoping for a spectator slot in due course if Craig permits.

Dang what a shame the Supra is not coming, i was getting really excited-

When someone states a horse poer between 700-800bhp you have to think hang on does he even know what power its producing? more often then not in most cases the bhp number is significantly lower than stated.

Probably would have beaten the rufs with 800bhp too

all the best

There are some very quick Jap cars in the UK now, but also many more that have severe delusions about their real power, mainly misled by car dealers, tuners and pub experts (I am ex-Chairman of the Skyline GTR Owners Club by the way, so I know a little about the scene).

But to provide a couple of examples, my old drag R32 GTR has recorded a 0-154mph in 10.1 seconds at Santa Pod, with a poor launch. I also witnessed a friends R33GTR do 209mph through timing beams at Elvington runway.

That said, the downsides including leaving VMax-II in a friends GTR that was not at all well, having blown a piston at 165mph.

The fact that both he and I sold GTRs and bought GT2's should speak volumes..........

For us not able to go(but would love to) you should try setting up some webcam or something at the event. Might be too technical but would be really cool.

Guy, let me just say, 0-154 in 10.1 is obscene!

Bravo!

It was.

10,000rpm, 2.3bar of boost, 1015bhp at the wheels, uses a gallon of 118octane fuel every 40 seconds.

Estimates are:

0-60mph in 2.5 seconds
0-100mph in about 4.5 seconds

to be fair to the guy the car was/is running around 680bhp but due to have an upgrade any day which would explain the uncertainty on power. he now "understands" a bit more about vmax & may be coming anyway so we'll have to make him very welcome

Guy, can I just add my congrats on your previous mount?

It's reassuring to know that however bad one's own megolamania becomes, there is always one sufferer worse off.

How will I recognise you at Brunters - white jacket, tight fitting with straps and buckles?
