It was.
10,000rpm, 2.3bar of boost, 1015bhp at the wheels, uses a gallon of 118octane fuel every 40 seconds.
Estimates are:
0-60mph in 2.5 seconds
0-100mph in about 4.5 seconds
And I thought our drag car was going to be a bit rapid, but it's nothing compared to that..
Guess we'll need that ally block then...

Anyone for breakfast on the day?
Would Brunters be Brunters without? Yes please!
It will be great to see you again, Dan, if without your previous magnificent steed. My mother in law shed a tear for you over that, she thought it was the nicest car at our place by a long way.
Mail to follow....
With that car list i wish you could allow spectators. I may have to try to blag a lift into the venue off someone?
On second thoughts would it be possible for any spectators to arrange to park somewhere nearby and have some of the entrees pick them up to go into the airfield? If anyone knows any place and if thats ok to get around the problems from last time?

DeR,
The sensible part of the brain did rule in the end and we sold it, the idea of budgeting for at least 2 new engines per year at about £15k each was a bit of a downer. Not practical for road-use either, though that didn't stop Henry (who co-owned it with me) driving it in the snow when in 2wd mode, he said it didn't have a lot of grip........
Guy
PS You never quite lose the bhp meglomania, Henry and I are visiting Ruf in two weeks in the GT2s and apparently they are confident that they can solve the acceleration problem we are currently experiencing in the mid 190's...........

Sir Guy,
The the joys of superior aerodynamics, eh? I have precisely the same issue too, albeit around 185...
Looking forward very much to meeting you chaps and of course, your fabulous steeds.
Your unworthy wretch,
Junkerskreig.
Guy,
Flip. Tickling a GT2 Ruf-style......
One thing I do remember you saying was that preserving your warranty was important. Do Ruf offer a warranty if they breath on your engine? What sort of BHP are we talking about here? And most importantly, if it blows up, does Herr Ruf help you out with the rebuild?
John.
(Feeling under-endowed for Vmax in his Boxster S).

Ruf provide a warranty covering the engine, gearbox and drivetrain for converted engines. It will be something we will discuss in detail with them. However Ruf are a 100% customer focussed company with an unbelievable record for dealing well with customers round the world, so we are fairly relaxed.
The likely conversion will be the 550bhp one. A 'friend of a friend' had a GT2 done with this conversion and it actually dynoed 588bhp at Ruf (Ruf are conservative). I believe it is about 600lb ft of torque..........
