Thought you were against tweaking the 65 after your experiences with the SL55, IIRC from an old post of yours?

That was me trusting TuV and Brabus to make a wheel / tyre combo that didn't blowout every 1,000 miles. Unfortunately Continental came to the party and dumped on the cake....

For Vmax I have to have the limiter removed and as a consequence the car gets another 38bhp (I don't know why). They could unleash a further 150 bhp and 200n/m torque, but I am sensitive to planetary gears!

Does the phrase 'unable to knock the skin orf a rice pudding' resonate any?

I must say, I do admire your singularity of mind and purpose in buying a £150k Merc: at such rarified levels of dosh transfer, most may have elected for the trad routes of Maranello, Sant Agata or the former habitues of Newport Pagnell but you stuck firmly to the quest of redoubtable, Prussian firepower.

At 650bhp too, I think that appalling little man Thomas should offer to buy you a 'rat au bap' from our resident rodent vendor.

Complete madness but I grant you, superb.

It would blow the box up in no time surely if all 750-odd horses and QEII torque were released, even though the box is beefed up over the 55AMG version?

Cannot wait to see it in action.

Out of interest did you not fancy a RUF R turbo or something along those lines for the same-ish price you paid for the Merc?

Best Regards

MOD.

Can I just remind everyone to do a full check of brakes, tyres/pressures & fluids before the day in question?

I appreciate this is akin to telling Granny how to suck eggs but in my humble experience I've discovered just how much stress various components may undergo and when decelerating from over 150 (in all cases?) and with half of Vauxhall's weekly output possibly positioned broadside to your rapid trajectory, things can simmer a bit!

Any specific questions, speak to Daz Tuning Services.

Otherwise you might just drive your car into an armco and look like a twa...hero.

Oh no, that was me

I cannot believe you're dishing out mechanical knowledge Simon, and yet you've got staff who weild the spanners

Big up the DeR, alias "Nowvan Spannuh Munkeh"

You can never claim to have truly experienced the mystery of the 911 without applying 'The Badger Technique;' I have it on the very best authority!

After sampling the wares from Gaydon and Maranello I was impressed, but wanted a car for everyday and was designed from day one to be convertible. The Merc is durable and (especially in RED!) rare.

Sant Agata has taken 120 thousand of my hard earned spondoolies for a Gallardo which will become my 2005 trackday weapon....

Now, should I use a non AMG tuner to fettle a £150K motor?....

Mr Gixer,

I am beginning to fawn in the wake of what appears to be an irrepressible force of sublime motoring cogniscence...

A Gallardo too? Sensational! (Ensure you fit a Tubi exhaust on it, someone round here has done and it seems to deliver the swift, emphatic elixir of petrolicism that is usually reserved for the more ubiquitous thoroughbreds from that region.)

Will this see an end to the CSL or are we talking car stable central?

Outrageous.

Tubi is on order.

....and common sense says that I should sell the CSL

So naturally I'm keeping it.

The car can, but not sure I'll have the room. 160 to 182 seemed to take quite a while

In fact... we only managed about 140 around Chimay the other week, in the wet granted, so any chance of acting co-pilot again
