Also hopefully Derestrictor will come along and I can show him I am merely a benign mollusc in the slime of his greatness I'll make it up to him for hijacking his thread in general gassing. He was miffed!
Don't worry about it mate, that was last week. I'm sure we can all munch on a rat burger and have a good laugh about it.
Looking forward to seeing (and hearing) this SL65 though...
Cheers,
Greg

Am looking forward to seeing the SL 65 very much too. I had a feeling yours might have been the one 'driven' in Evo this month, especially with it having the Brabus wheels...but looking at your profile you don't have it yet.
Are you planning any power upgrades? The owner of the car in the article was I think. Is there any way to beef the auto box up to take the full tug boat torque of the motor? As the article said the engine had to be detuned a bit to aid longevity of the 'box.
Out of interest, why did you go for the SL65 opposed to the Brabus SL K8 (think its called that), or some other tuning house road ripper?
Question is, will you be wearing your beetle crusher shoes at V-max?
Best Regards
Martyn.

Thats exactly what I thought!
(Then saw that he has ordered a red one).
This time I'll make a point of meeting you phatgixer.
Martyn, Id like a passenger ride in your Porker as I fell for it at PF.
Actually, any Porsche drivers: Take me for a spin and make me jealous!
Craig
I've bent Mrs Get's ear and I'M IN! (as long as you still have places)
One thing though... I notice the 31st is the day the clocks change.... might be worth a reminder e mail a few days before, or half of us will turn up at the wrong time!
Let me know how much you want, when and how.

I noticed that article in EVO. I ought to write to them about the wheels...
I am not planning on any upgrades to the power, and I have learned my (expensive) lesson about putting non-AMG wheels on the thing.
I have chosen the AMG over the Brabus as it is the original article, not a tuner special and think it should be more rounded and a better ownership experience. Still going to be a horrendous depreciation bill though. My SL55 blew a gearbox, so stand by to learn if 1000NM will kill the Maybach shift plated item that resides in the 65
My car is being collected from Bremen in early October and then has to come back here, before it can go down to Affalterbach to have the speed limiter removed. They won't do it from the factory GRRRRR! So hopefully it will done in time. If not I'll unleash the CSL again or (preferably) bring the mighty GSXR1000 along
Gixer or the SL65 will give all the (non Ruf) 911s a bloody nose I hope
Phat, thanks for the reply.
Look forward to having a run against the 65....though I feel up to 100 or so will be close, though after that the Merc will take over. The brakes discs must be cart wheel-esque to haul the leviathan down from warp speed?
Have you any idea why the Brabus Snoop Dogg specials kept popping tyres, was it heat build up, or the poor UK roads killing the ultra low profiles tyres?
Thanks
Martyn.
