Rich's Amazing Wales Road Trip 2013

Hope everyone made it home safely!
Fantastic trip - the Evo Triangle will be stuck in my mind forever! I loved it!
Well done Rich for organising - top sensible driving by everyone.
What I learnt during this trip:
- my car is a bit noisy
- it seems people who are older lean towards hooliganism a bit more
- the Evo triangle is better going anti clockwise
Best part of the trip - going anti clockwise on the Evo triangle
Least favourite part of the trip - old man running out of his house to tell me to turn down the noise of my car whilst I was waiting at some temporary traffic lights. Wasn't even me who revved! You hooligans!
Weather was ace, company was ace - thank you all! I'll get some pictures up once I get a chance to download them from my camera.

It was a great trip. I am sure that I(particularly) do not understand the second item on your "Learnt" list *whistles innocently*. My C63 seems to need some new tyres this week.Fantastic trip - the Evo Triangle will be stuck in my mind forever! I loved it!

I really enjoyed giving the beastie a little grief around the twisty welsh roads. I agree on the triangle being taken B4501 first, seems to just make sense that way, for me anyway. Thanks to Rich and everyone for making this a fun event.
Right, I am off to look at planning permission for a guest house/pit stop/pub type thing, somewhere along the A543.
It was a brilliant trip and I'm glad everyone had a good time! In the next couple of days I'll PM you guys a place where you can upload any video clips you'd like included in the final movie. For pics, just stick them on photobucket and share here or post to the FB group if you use it!
Thanks to everyone who took part, I really enjoyed the roads and meeting everyone and will definitely be doing it again!

Guys, given that this has been such a resource could I request the following in a single post, now that we are post-coitus?
1. Could we have the final map as Google Maps that other PHers could use as a route?
2. Any tips on where to stop?
3. Anything that was outstanding, so a list of priorities in case someone only has a day as opposed to a whole weekend?
4. Link to the .pdf so everything in one place
Cheeky requests I know, but I for one know I would be grateful for this.

@nta - I think all of us ended up having a burger at some point, so that's ticked off the list! I was more taken with the Welsh Sausages I got for breakfast at my hotel.
@Advocus - The map is in the first post, and aside from the Triangle the one thing that sticks out is a mountain road we took on the third day. It was very misty and wet when we drove it but I imagine it'd be fun in the dry. Was that Crickhollow?
And thanks to all of you for making it a really memorable trip. Was great to see and experience so many different cars. Looking forward to next time, Rich!

Some pictures can be found on my flickr page. Apologies that they are not up to my usual standard - I was preoccupied with driving and enjoying myself!!

Beautiful clear shots. What equipment do you use? Have these shots been "shopped" at all in any way? They are so very clear and bright.A couple of my favs. More on the page:

I finished a video compilation of the best bits we had on film of the trip
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBpGk1f56ik
In hindsight, next time we’d stop and record more outside footage and maybe document more about what exactly we were doing and where we were going! It just felt a shame to break up the awesome roads and driving to make it into a more focused documentary style, but it’s given me some points to consider next time around.
I’d also like to invest in a decent external microphone as the wind noise ruined most of the clips audio, which is why you’ve been exposed to some questionable background music here
Hope you enjoy the video, and thanks again to everyone who came along and made it an awesome trip.

the vid has set me up for the end of next week when we go (again)
we're going Thursday and stopping with friends of our friends just in England on the first night, so our first stop will be the Sun inn, Leintwardine for a drop of excellent quality Hobsons (on gravity, the co-owner of the pub is a Director of Hobsons Brewery) and we'll take chips in from from the other co-owner's former chip shop and eat them in the 'brick room' before retiring to a time warp genuine parlour
and that's just the start, then the climb over Long Mynd to let the car's know what the next 4 or 5 days will be like ...

thank you, just seen your reply, we left on the 5thwe've been and back, cracking time this year again especially with stopping at the Red Lion, Dinas Mawddwy - excellent ales, good home made meals, very reasonable priced rooms even more so because they thought the night rally of classic (rally) cars and the 120 for 4am breakfast might disturb us, I intended to get up to have a look but was just too tired, we all were
the pub is at the start of one of my favourite roads and we were able to get several runs on it over the two nights we stopped at the Red Lion including one without luggage or our navigators, apart from a short distance at the start we had the road to entirely to ourselves that time so even better
we realised that we'd B&B'd at the Red Lion about 20 years ago too
rediscovered a few great roads and found a couple of good new ones we'd missed on previous visits to Wales
last two nights we stopped in Llanidloes and what great roads we had to and from there again
even Anglesey had some very pleasant, if unexciting roads (not my choice to go there)
another excellent touring holiday in Wales and great fun on the mountain and other roads
