RE: Wilton Classic Supercar new details
Discussion
I had an invitation to exhibit, there was no mention of a charge, only if you wanted lunch, just as before.
Sadly I'm afraid it has lost its attraction for me now though, it was the drive down, the stop off en route and going down the drive through all the crowds that made it special. Sorry, I know this sounds selfish, as at the end of the day it is about raising money for a very worthwhile cause but if the old system worked then why change it?

Dear All
Just wanted to address a few concerns and queries.
CAR CLUBS - The club pitches in the heart of the heart of the show are FREE. Tickets are offered to cars within clubs at the reduced rate of £16 for one day with a 50% discount on the ticket price for a second day. Clubs are welcome to set up their own tables/chairs/tents etc.
SUPERCAR PARADE - see next post

SUPERCAR PARADE -
There is no charge for those taking part, and you will be welcomed by myself with a complimentary tea/coffee and pastries on arrival. (booked Full English also available)
Free tickets are given to all those taking part including passengers (within reason!) with all day access to the house and hospitality enclosure. There will also be prizes given out!
CHANGES TO FORMAT - Having the cars displayed on site from gate opening will allow our visitors much more time to enjoy and photograph these magnificent machines. For half the day previously, there has been a huge void in the middle of the show.
With up to 2000 people now on the public roads watching the cars arrival it has become too hazardous and we have been politely recommend to address the element.
We are looking to continue the the pre event activities for Supercar owners going forwards but with so many other changes this year, not least moving the show from the end of the summer to the start, we have simply run out of time and capacity. (we are after all only a team of two!)
We hope to resurrect something fun for 2016 though!
NEW FORMAT -
8am arrival followed by complimentary breakfast in the hospitality marquee.
11.30am The best examples will be invited separately to take part in an enhanced midday parade, starting off from the entrance gates and running the traditional route and onto a podium in front of the house where our celebrity interviewer will chat with the driver and talk about the car.
1pm Booked lunch in the hospitality Marquee
2.30pm Prize giving.
4pm Supercar exit parade along a new route along the river back.
Throughout the day there will be plenty to keep you entertained with more acts in our arena, a live restoration display, motor maintenance lessons from Wiltshire college as well as live bands playing from lunchtime!
Saturday will feature a similar display/parade of Classic cars.
I hope this answers some queries!

I wouldn't be too sure about that element either. I remember at the first couple I attended it was all about the charity, last year there was barely any mention of it.Sadly I'm afraid it has lost its attraction for me now though, it was the drive down, the stop off en route and going down the drive through all the crowds that made it special. In fact just looking at the website, there's not a single mention of any charities.

To me it was all about the drive down from brooklands to the pre event then the thrash to the house. Maybe we could arrange a similar drive (unofficial) from brooklands to the house? Any takers?
+1One of the most spectacular convoys of metal you are ever likely to see.
