Well over 500 rhd cars made so as common as rhd M635's were.... but there's less than half of the 524 M635's left and about two-thirds MoT'd.
422 UK RHD actually and just 303 left in the UK after 13 years: https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/bmw_m3_csl... but we managed to make them look as common as muck on the day
BTW... I believe we've met before... IIRC you bought my immaculate E34 540i 6 Speed manual Tourer few years ago.
I also have to admit I dribbled a bit when I saw your "one of one" RHD E34 Alpina 4.6 Wagon last Sunday

So great looking they're almost off the radar to everyone else, except us Cecil owners
Which one is yours mate ?
The 2nd pic is mine and luckily you can't see the pebble dash stone chip affect I've been perfecting on the front for some time now !

Yes, I did buy that immaculate 540iT/6 from you and I would still have it today were it not for a dozy taxi-driver who fell asleep at the wheel and wrote it off, I won't post a pic, it would make us cry; it was one of just 64 rhd manual 540i Tourings and they've got a little UK cult following as the E34 M5 Touring was lhd only. Your/our 540i Touring got me into E34 Tourings and I learned about the one-off rhd B10 4.6 Touring in an obscure forum thread many years ago, secretly swearing to myself that I'd buy it if it ever surfaced (it's whereabouts was completely unknown). I followed the 540i with a tweaked E34 M5T which supposedly had 363bhp but like a lot of S38B38's it let go and the years of previous seaside living rendered the car unsaveable.
Next came an E39 B10 V8 Touring which I still have as a winter beater (in between the standard E39 chocolate cooling system leaks) and then years later up popped a sighting of the E34 Alpina Touring Holy Grail, so I tracked it down and eventually bought it.
The Fleet grew again when I scratched a V12 itch (see my garage) and now I'm all full up. I wish I'd known you were at MB, it would have been nice to catch up face to face.

I like the fact that most people think it's just another BMW and that only the 'educated' know what a great car it really is !!

Ahh yes I remember [CL53 CSL] from the first SS of the year @ BMW HQ. The 2nd pic is mine and luckily you can't see the pebble dash stone chip affect I've been perfecting on the front for some time now !
FYI... I formatted the pic size so that the chips on yours disappear by magic of Photoshop

According to the Mregistry there were 542 rhd CSL's made but I suppose some might have been made other rhd markets.

Unfortunately I know the whole story and have the sad pix after the impact You send it to me after I couldn't believe the email that preceded it. What a crying shame... that was a truly wonderful E34 barge in fantastic fettle. Pic of it from happier times from a Studio shoot for TotalBMW Magazine (also gone & largely forgotten) Yes, I did buy that immaculate 540iT/6 from you and I would still have it today were it not for a dozy taxi-driver who fell asleep at the wheel and wrote it off, I won't post a pic, it would make us cry; it was one of just 64 rhd manual Tourings and they've got a little UK cult following as the E34 M5 Touring was lhd only. Re: CSL RHD production numbers... 100% on the 422 UK RHD CSLs (I have one with the official placket to confirm)... South Africa had around 60 official RSA cars, all individually numbered... IIRC there were 8 or 10 official NZ cars as well an unknown number of official Australian CSLs. Further more there were around 7 or 9 official Japanese RHD cars... although majority of CSLs in Japan are unofficial LHD German/Swiss personal imports.

I was so annoyed I spent time cleaning the car etc only to be parked at the back on the grass behind a row of cars, it was probably in the top 5 worst parking spaces there!
I highly doubt anyone got a cool pic of mine by any chance.....Blue MK2 Golf GTI...
Cheers!
