Afternoon Gents,

I found out last night that the Wilton House Classic & Supercar show which took place from 2011 to 2015 has been scrapped, following 18 months of hype after the show in 2016 was cancelled and rescheduled to June 2017. The official announcement was made on their Facebook page about 1½ months ago, but I do not use Facebook and only found out yesterday when going to order the tickets on the official website. I had been looking forward to the show ever since the last one finished back in 2015, and so to hear this news after 18 months of waiting has been rather disappointing! I attended Wilton House Classic & Supercar for the first time in 2013 after seeing the 'Rev Off' videos from fGearTV on YouTube, and was so impressed by the show that I attended again in 2014 and for the weekend in 2015. It became my favourite show and I actually found it to be more enjoyable than the considerably more expensive Goodwood Festival of Speed, of which I have also been to in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

The main reason I liked the Wilton House show so much is because I'm a hobbyist car photographer, and at the end once all the crowds have left (After 4:00PM) it was possible to capture some fantastic pictures of the cars on display without anyone in the background of the shots at all, some of which were worth millions like the Bugatti Veyron (There were 5 of these in 2015) and Ferrari 250 GTO. The entire area is almost deserted at the end, with the exception of other enthusiast photographers like myself, and it's just brilliant having the freedom to stand right next to such prestigious cars and photograph them, without having the annoyances of people carelessly walking in shot. I posted the picture underneath as an example of how quiet the grounds become, despite there still being perfect amounts of daylight.

As it seems like the show has now been scrapped, I'm looking for a replacement event which offers the same kind of experience to that of Wilton House. I was hoping for a few recommendations for all-day supercar shows of an equivalent size, which preferably offers a similar style of opportunities for photography. I also enjoy filming departure videos for my YouTube channel, and would prefer an event where it is possible to film these videos safely outside the entrance to the location. I am located in Warwickshire, but will travel and stop overnight for a show which is significant enough to justify the additional expense of accommodation. Having looked around online, I have found a couple of shows which are the Luxury Motor Show on 21/05 in Nottingham, Beaulieu Supercar Weekend on 05/08 - 06/08 at Beaulieu Motor Museum and Supercar Sunday which is at The Sharnbrook Hotel near Bedford. I have not been to any of these events before, and was curious as to how they would compare with Wilton House. I'm sure the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power would also be a good prospect for when it returns in June 2018. There is Salon Prive at Blenheim Palace as well, but unfortunately it would be impossible for me to contemplate the excessive ticket prices since it is clearly targeted towards more wealthy individuals. Any further suggestions would be most appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Rob

Although it's a bit of a distance for you from Warwickshire, have you considered the Goodwood Breakfast Clubs and Wilton Wake Ups ?.

Both can offer some good opportunity to get photos without people around if you're there early to see them arrive and/or late when people start to depart.

Both of these are also free to enter, so you're just looking at fuel money and food.
