Thanks very much for organising today pistonheads, I missed it last year but what a great venue for a meet up! Looking forward to next year.

Sorry Blipi I just about managed to beat you! I went out for a second run and failed to clock though, as I'd left it a few hours all the hub and gearbox oils had a chance to cool down again and it felt very sluggish in comparison to the first run. If I could have a go straight after a nice long drive on the road I feel fairly confident I could lose a second or so off of my original time. A great day out, thanks PH

Totally loved your Ferret and so pleased you brought it along AND took it down the straight!
Must be such a fun vehicle to wheel out. Superb!

Great day smile

The red Noble was surprisingly fast.
I had a good chat with the owner and a couple of other guys with Nobles, and was lucky enough to sit in one and get a good look around, very tempting! I believe its around 500bhp.
Good to meet you today and more than happy to show you round the car, good luck with finding the right spec if you do decide to buy one! Yes it's 500bhp but lack of driver skills means the extra power is wasted on me laugh

Thanks PH, I too popped along to this. Love walking around the car park seein the eclectic mix of car. The drag strip adds a great spectacle too, some very very rapid car there today and one or two eyebrows raised.

Well done no thanks again.

Unfortunately, even though I attended with DARTH (stage 3 Superb), I was not able to run due to still bedding in the new engine and clutch, would have been fantastic to line up next to the Octavia estate and the E63! Maybe next time. If all goes well I will be at Shakespeare Raceway on the 13th in case the owner of the Octavia is reading this smile

A video I took of the battle of the GT-Rs smile

And a photo of the Noble:

Thank you very much, other half got a great little video of you guys battling it out down the strip, I'm pretty sure they were her favourite things there! Great little machines. Out of interest what sort of horsepower are they?

Fab! If you Could PM me for a copy of the video I'd be very grateful smile

The Blue car is a very early original German Heinkel version 1954 I think. 175cc not sure on HP!
The Red car is a late English Trojan version around 1964. 200cc. Trojan bought the rights to make RHD British versions.

There are a few subtle difference between the two.. I've had mine for around 4 years but it needed a lot of work to get it running good, and still needs more! The other guy has had bubbles most his life and so is far more experienced in driving them.
Great fun to drive and is almost guaranteed to make me and other smile! So glad our plans to attend came together!

Big thanks to all at Pistonheads for organising this and for the Santa Pod staff. Had a great day. Hopefully this will be a regular annual Sunday Service event. Thankfully my car managed 4 runs and remained in one piece.

Thanks to all who attended and those who arranged the event. Being a brand new member this was my first SS and I loved it.

The bubble cars were a brilliant highlight. And like others have said, that Audi with the ridiculous exhaust was great.

Next time I shall definitely run my GTA.

Did anyone get a video of the Skoda Rocketship?

It seemed to struggle a bit off the line, then once in third gear with the turbo spooled just sat back and disappeared off down the track.

Another superb Santa Pod Sunday Service - superb value at £30 for all day runs, and even better than last time thanks to PH having exclusive use of the whole venue this time, with correspondingly short queues for runs.
As always, the friendly atmosphere and wide variety of cars on show & running down the strip was an absolute pleasure.
Many thanks indeed PH, looking forward to the same again next year - best PHSS on the calendar, imho.

It could be interesting to share our best run times down the 1/4 mile this weekend?

My first Sunday Service, and I'm glad I went! Really nice morning of looking at the cars and seeing some go up the strip. Thanks for organising the event, PH!

Added my best timed run of the day, shame I couldn't get under 11, the car is capable, the old fart behind the wheel, not so much!

Is this it? I found this video hilarious! Bravo to the Subaru owner for capturing it.

If we remove the .044 reaction time the E63 S is a 10-second car! And by god did it feel it!

Except the RT is not added to the ET, is it?

You are indeed correct, my apologies!

Then the E63 S was 'only' an 11-second car
