RE: Santa Pod Sunday Service 07/05
Discussion
I'm in the area tomorrow and haven't decided what I'm doing as of yet. I don't necessarily want to take a place on the Sunday Service as
1. I'm not sure if I'll be coming or not
2. I'm driving the Mrs Toyota Aygo... hardly going to fit in with that!
So if I just turn up is there separate public parking? If I go there can I have a poke around the Sunday Service and see the cars?

I wouldn't worry about taking a space. There's still 400 left on the list.1. I'm not sure if I'll be coming or not

Just signed up also. For access do you just show them your phone with the piston heads list and your name? Or will we be emailed something prior to Sunday?
It's my first SS so looking forward to it.
I'll send out a final email tonight to the new joiners with instructions and a windscreen badge. If you can't print then showing it on your phone will be fine! It's my first SS so looking forward to it.
See you tomorrow.

Could you check your spam folder for me please, just in case it has gone in there? It has been sent to you! Just turn up and show that I'm on the list on PH calender?
If not, will resend.
Cheers!

For anyone else who's up at this godforsaken hour and reading this.
I live less than 5 miles (as the crow flies) from SP and there has been no rain over night and its not raining now. (Patio is bone dry). The sky is grey, but doesn't look like it's threatening rain, just overcast.
Bbc and met office say that its due to brighten up from 10am.
Disclaimer- I'm no weatherman so wont be held responsible if you turn up in something with no roof and it rains....

Good to know. The tiniest bit of drizzle about an hour south of you. Nothing to even make the ground damp, but enough to ruin the shine on my car I live less than 5 miles (as the crow flies) from SP and there has been no rain over night and its not raining now. Great SS as always, such a good venue for it - Some great stuff on the track, particularly the orange Datsun! And as for that mk1 Octavia, what on earth was in it?! It flew! Great sleeper car...
Also enjoyed seeing the bubble cars racing up the track, got a good cheer from the crowd, and the armoured car, brilliant. Gotta love the eccentricity of PH sometimes :-)

Another brilliant SS, one of my top 3 I would say. Lots of action on the drag strip, lots of fantastic cars and the classic PH crowd. Spotted a good few cars heading to the SS on the M1 (the Datsuns and white GT3) in particular. Weather brightened up in the end too - although a very chilly May morning! Would happily go back to this venue. Parking seemed a little confused until we realised that we could park anywhere . Great to see some people not afraid to drag their cars too - the McLaren going in reverse for a moment made me smile (and then almost catching the other car). Fun roads around there to drive too.
If there are any pictures of a while SLK55 AMG please let me know.
My two favourite cars: (thanks to the McLaren owner for opening everythign up)
Best moment of the day: (what great spirit, had us all chuckling in the grandstand)!

Thanks to the pistonheads team for arranging the Sunday service today.
It was excellent fun.
The e63s was amazing. I tweeted my video of it vs. The 991 GT3 earlier too. That was a surprise....
The GTRs, the 991T were amazing - the way they hooked up was incredible. Gutted that the fellow m5 owner couldn't get it off the line but once underway, was huge in performance terms I didn't have the bottle to try mine. Then there was the clk500 which just set off when the lights went green - a very discrete sleeper.
There was an Audi s4 with a hidden artillery launcher somewhere, and e55 with what appeared to be some form of jet engine, and a very unlucky bloke in an e46 m3 who seemed to blow his m-diff as he spun a rear wheel most of the length of the track at 40 mph.... I hope it's okay....
Amazed at how fast some of the more modern 135/140i BMWs were - most were as fast or quicker than some pretty exotic stuff. Whoever brought the white golf R and the white Civic type R - we all thought that would have been a great head to head.....
And the skoda Octavia estate......seriously, what the hell?...
Thanks to everyone for being so friendly to over excited petrol heads like me - and chatting so freely about the cars - old m3, old m5 very old m3 and the amazing mackers. A long tail is a very rare and beautiful beast. Lottery bucket list for sure....
See you all at Le mans I hope.
