Land's End to Ness Point, midsummers evening 2017
Discussion
Those of you who are doing the run tonight - be warned the M3 is CLOSED overnight eastbound between J5 and J2. If you're going the A303 route this will affect you.
Wouldn't recommend the M5/M4 route either as the M4 is closed between 18 and 17. Best bet is to go A303/A34/M4 or A303/M3, leave at J6 to take the A33 to M4 J11.
Good luck!

Did you make it?
Apologies but I'm awful with names but...Those that made it:
Orange S2000
White 3 Series
Black c63
Silver Supra
Blue TT
Orange GT86
Black MX5
The Saab boys (x2)
and of course the mighty blue Z4 Coupe
The only one I saw at the start but not the end was a red Ibiza.
Well done all, I'll be there Saturday with my co-driver in my MR2
Any pictures of last night/this morning?

Watching with interest. I was thinking of doing it on Saturday, but the weather forecast's bad and 450 miles in a 911 in the dark and wet might not be so much fun.
It's forecast cloudy but dry at weekend. High teens temperature wise. OK Guys if you have never done this it's a must. Had a complete blast with great company. I will put some pics up asap.
900.2 miles from Lands end to Ness point and back to The Lizard, got home 10 mins ago. 15 hours driving
I left at 21.37, just in front of Gt86, which has to be said looks great, arrived at Ness point at 03.43 (6 hrs 6 mins), with 4 stops!!!
Plenty of time to watch all the others arrive and watch the sun rise. Fantastic time even got told to slow down by our local Police on the A30 as they went by me, whoops.

I followed the diversion signs but be very vigilant as the signs are not great and I lost ten mins also the lads in the AMG Merc did the same.. came out on the M25 one junction from Heathrow..
Are you doing friday or saturday?

Anyone else? Do you want to add your cars to the list so we know who's who?
I'm getting a bit
And I've got a job interview in the darkest depths of South East London in the morning.

Did enjoy this post in the other thread, so I'll try and make use of this.

If you're thinking of doing the run, here's a spreadsheet showing due times at driver change points along the route based on arriving at the finish bang on sunrise.
It may seem a bit geeky to some but it gives you an accurate idea if you're on schedule for a successful run or not.
If you're that keen, you can work out our exact position of the driver changes using Google Maps - it's what I used.
Some will question why we didn't have fewer driver changes and saved time that way but I wouldn't want to sit bored for two hours or more waiting on my turn to drive.
Also, it makes you both work more as a team, one driving, one navigating, watching the time schedule and keeping an eye out for one of Fox-Talbot's creations.
Apologies for uploading the time schedule as an image. New to this forum and can't work out yet how to upload an Excel spreadsheet.
