Land's End to Ness Point, midsummers evening 2017
Discussion
We are here.
I have had a word with Dan who was in charge of the area by the sign. He has give permission for a small number to start down their and take our own photo.
Respect the place and no charging about!
I guess by then all the visitors will have gone anyway.
I aim to get to the start post just after 21:00

Can I confirm that the man with no name, who may or may not be Mark, is absolutely right, we were all there, on time.
6 or 7 cars and a couple of bikes
From my perspective it was great to put names to faces.
The man with the Jag, Mark
The lady with the very pretty red Civic, Helen.
The biker who rigged an auxiliary 40ltr fuel tank to the back if his bike and designed and built a control system that allowed him to pump fuel into his main tank, on the move.
The result was, he achieved his aim of doing the run non stop, with 20 miles to spare in the tank
Respect
The 3 young guys from Manchester and Leeds who drove down, did the run and drove back
About 1100 or more miles
Good for them, not sure I could have done it.
All the others, whom I met but don't have names for.
Thanks to Mark (and his better half) for taking the trouble to obtain perimission for us to set off from the top of LE, rather than the car park out front.
It was a real blast and something you should do, if you can.
I won't be back next year, but, will be back
John

Mr Biker - More details, please. Not sure that I fancy 400 miles non-stop on a bike - mucho respecto .The result was, he achieved his aim of doing the run non stop, with 20 miles to spare in the tank

I've done similar with a van, but that was easy compared to a bike.

Apologies for not knowing your name
I guess you managed to find some fuel in sunny Lowestoft to get you home
Some tips and ideas for any one doing this run this evening...
Parking is £6 at Land's End.. I guess if you turn up just before the start it isn't an issue.
The part of the journey from Land's End to Penzance is a bit slow, which pulls your average down. Take your time, we got held up buy a van who seemed to be deliberately obstructive... as soon as the roads opened up we were away.
Odd note, but Fleet services is open 'fully' not just night pay so you can fillup with fuel and use their facilities.
We hit all our waypoint pretty well dead on, but still seemed to have to push on in the last leg.
Good luck to everyone for tonights run.

Yes that was me in the Civic not sure you can call it pretty it's not all that comfortable if im honest. I enjoyed it very much just hope I haven't clocked any speeding tickets, wasn't going like a bet out of hell but even two or three mph over is enough these days. Not sure I could do it again, definitely not on my own any way. The worse bit was driving from Lowestoft to Bedford (home). It was the longest 90mins ever.
Was a real hoot meeting some of you.
