Am just getting my old e30 ready for the trip up from Cornwall on Sunday. Hopefully a 4am start should be early enough. Anyone else travelling a long way to be there?

BIG NEWS – CAPACITY INCREASED TO 300 CARS

Due to the popularity of this event, BMW have very kindly re-assessed their parking and have increased the capacity to 300 cars. So now even more of you can come along! Really looking forward to this one, so see you all there on Sunday thumbup
That's excellent news. I can offer a seat to anyone who's from the Hertford area and won't make the top 300 - just let me know.

Just had a look at the long list and thought I might get abused for not bringing a BMW along!

So I've removed myself, to make way for an M2. I'll park elsewhere and wander over.
Doesn't matter what car you drive. Saab, Kia or Caterham, everyone is welcome.

I'm on the list but way down in the reserves think. Is there somehwere to park nearby so I could walk over?

Am I correct in thinking the first 50 cars to arrive will be in the undercover car park?

Probably more than 50,there isn't much open parking there.

Not sure how many floors the multi storey is.

PH, is there, or could there be, a email blast to the 300 who are 'in' reminding them to relinquish if they are no longer going? If it had a simple single click link in the email to release their space I suspect you'd get a sensible response.

...78 and counting...

Surely this defeats the object of the list? Especially when BMW are catering for guests.

I’m guessing the email will go out tomorrow?

What he said.

Event is for 300.

What would happen if every reserve "walked in" ?
The same as what would happen if everyone brought 3 passengers!

It says there is space for 600 people.

First post write says ... Space: 250 cars, up to 600 people

so now 300 cars, with average occupancy of 2

Right.... so does that mean no car will be let in with more than 2 people? And what about those turning up with 1 person? Will they be recorded and the numbers allowed in each car adjusted? I doubt it very much.

Disappointing to see all the bickering on here, so I've had a clean up. Lets not forget that BMW are putting this event on for us for free, and providing breakfast for 600 people for free.

The 300 car capacity is set to work with the constraints of the parking at the venue and the staff available to help out on the day. The 600 person capacity is more about us working out an average of two people per car, and to allow BMW to work out how much sausage and bacon to cook!

Sadly we just can't fit everyone in, and we know how popular this event is. If you weren't able to make the cut to park, you are more than welcome to find an alternative solution to get to the event, whether you walk, cycle or grab a lift with another PHer. Lastly, and most importantly, everyone and anyone is welcome at our events, irrelevant of what they drive. Whether you borrow your nan's Yaris or rock up in a LaFerrari, it doesn't matter.

And don't forget to bring your wallet to buy a t-shirt or a sticker! See you all there thumbup

Quite so Ben.

It really is a bit pathetic, if I'm honest, to see some of the posts that were here. It's like it's a school and you're all arguing over the "most popular" seat on the bus!

Only PH members could make such a simple thing so complicated.

On the plus side, I have dropped out, as we (my friend group and I) have collectedly decided to go to the Boosted UK meet that's on in Ayelsbury instead. Hopefully people will take photos from the BMW event and share them on here. :-)

There are 2 x multi storeys, one is slight larger than the other. The larger one has 12 floors and more than enough spaces for 300 cars. Correct there isnt much open space parking, around 30 cars or so.

So to summarise , it is acceptable for people who don't have a parking space to come in on foot and that my question about where to park nearby was entirely reasonable and didn't warrant the dick response it received. Glad you cleared that up. Thanks.
