shere hill climb - guildford area surrey
Discussion
Local event outside guildford tomorrow in aid of charities
Basically it is a non-competitive event for 174 cars to parade up the hill - but some interesting stuff turns up - from blower bentley's to a Miura to Minis - just a bit of fun really - I am doing it with some mates - and the spectator viewing is improved for this year

A mate is driving one of my cars and the car i wanted to take is still having work done - so wanting to be left out I just bought a smartuki - basically a smart car with a gsxr1000 engine.
Edit to add - It was delivered and after a longer test drive without brakes - engine misfire etc - i can confirm i won't be bringing it! - but i will be coming along to watch

Really enjoyed this ,I didn't know what to expect, whether it would be a bit rubbish but no,really good.
Yes - weather notwithstanding - was a fun day - got a passenger ride in car without screen/roof at end of day in rain - it was erm..refreshing!Went along on Sunday having only heard about it on Friday, what a jolly good day out! Loads of interesting cars in the paddock, some decent food and beer and even quite amusing watching the non-competitive "parades" up the hill.
I have no idea what went on last year to make the police and local authority so anti this year,I thought it was a very well run event.

H&S it would appear according to this article. Interesting comparison to the annual bike ride in that department. https://www.racecar.com/News/87959/Client/A-close-...
