I dunno, I rather like that one of my humble little RX-7, thanks smile Glad I didn't bother cleaning it laugh
You passed me on the way there smile I drive the red WRX, your RX7 looked and sounded awesome and is a real flamethrower! It was the first ever FB i've seen so quite a treat!

My mate's Silvia is limping like a dog at the moment but he was following me there so I had to drive sensibly laugh
Ahhhh, cool, I remember. Your mate's blue Datsun seemed to be having all kinds of woes... the random indicator/rear light flashing thing reminded me of 80s Ford Sierra earthing issues frown I did wonder why you guys were hanging around, don't think I'd have been keeping up with the Scooby otherwise.

And yeah, the flames are something of an issue. It's starting to melt the bumper a bit but I can't really turn the Weber down or it won't start in the cold rolleyes Just means the overrun gets a bit... well... pyrotechnic bandit

Yeah his car basically has a big turbo shaped restriction in the exhaust which doesn't build boost. He probably shouldn't be driving it but bought it down for sunday.

I have the same flame "problem" on my Vx220 but I've decided to just enjoy it and worry about minor details such as melted bumpers later laugh

Hoping to go to a few more PH Events next year so hope to see the FB again thumbup

Also hate to be "the guy" but is something like this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fqH0wZbRYk - ~13:05) really appropriate on a public road? - the type of thing that will very quickly stop events happening. I'm all for booting it away (whilst in control and maintaining traction) but that's just a bit chav.

Thing is the number plate isn't even blurred so the guy could be in for a world of pain.

Likely others on the above link, that's just the first one that actually made me want to say something.
It's driving like that, that threatens the very existence of the events that we organise. We spend a lot of time and effort organising these events, for free, yet there's always a select few that disregard the rules because they think it looks 'cool' to drive dangerously leaving our events.

If you were one of the drivers that left like this, don't bother coming back to a PistonHeads Sunday Service. We all like to have a spirited drive but there's a time and a place; leaving our events is not it.

On the plus side, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with a great turn out and an incredibly eclectic mix of cars. Thanks to those that came along and drove sensibly!
With respect mate then why not do something about it? People only act up because everyone is there with cameras.
So why not have a marshal or member of the team on the exit telling people not to film?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jzla2eH770

I don't mind the pulling out and giving it a squirt but half the cars come out sideways.

People act up even without cameras, the last Sunday service at Mercedez Benz World had people treating the exit road like a quarter mile even when there was no one lined up taking videos.

Incidently we've not had any more Sunday services at MBW since....

Stopping people from filming probably would help it but if someone's going to leave like an idiot nothing can really stop them apart form banning them from future events.

It depends on the venue. In this instance, it's a public highway so there's little we could have done. I'd like to think people would have the sense not to drive dangerously and we wouldn't have to police it, but sadly on this occasion this hasn't happened. Where we can identify those that drove dangerously, we'll have a word with them and if necessary, stop them from coming to future events. That is of course, if we can even return to a venue after some of the driving we've seen recently.

Now lets leave it at that, and talk about the things we enjoyed at the event. No point in dragging this out any more than it needs, and I'll remind everyone that private detective work is against our rules of posting.

On a lighter note, I'd like to thank everyone that gave us goodies on Sunday, especially garytr7v8 for yet another great haul! It hasn't lasted long in the office. Can't beat chocolate and cake for breakfast!

Some nice pics there, thanks!

I particularly like the one that shows the teeny-tiny Morgan parked next to my Thunderbird, nice bit of car parking arrangement on the part of the stewards there (& luck). Brave chap, driving the 3-wheeler in that weather, hope he didn't have to come too far.

I'm glad it left before I did, was worried I might accidentally run over it and not notice ;-)

I've seen the 3 wheeler at the Goodwood event 3 years in a row, it always stands out from the crowd smile

bit difficult to get pictures of cars along the pit straight as there's just so many people but it was good fun to see them all.

I think the Morgan owner said he was from Horsham. I made a point of having a chat as he was the only other trike pilot there. Nice guy.

Thanks for the nice comments about my little Mog and it was a bit of a contrast to the superb Thunderbird.

It was a bit chilly on the way down from Horsham but well worth wrapping up warm for.

Mike, good to meet you to and fascinating to see your trike.

Thanks to all the PH and Goodwood staff for another great event smile

You will discover that the Goodwood is VERY sensitive about issues that may bring the estate into disrepute as it depends hugely on the local populace being tolerant of the congestion that events cause.
IF dangerous driving whilst exiting the circuit comes to their attention be assured they have the influence to seek the support of the police to either be in attendance. The may well rightfully decide to refuse permission for Pistonheads to use the location again.

I must say, I shan't draw in to the negatives of people exiting these events too much, but for the the finale of PHSS this year, it was pretty disgusting to see. Many cars leaving recklessly, though this time I didn't bring my GT86 so there is no way people will get confused with mine!

Many thanks to the Jack, Ben, Mat, Daffyd, Nik and the rest of the PH Team that's made successful events like this possible.

It was a cold and dark morning setting off from leafy Hertfordshire in the Lexus RC F Carbon driving down the M25 and the A3. With 10 minutes until we arrive at Goodwood Motor Circuit, we took a detour through a cute village and found a beautiful area to stop and wait for the sunrise and take photos - we were rather early, miscalculating the lack of traffic on the way down.

But the detour was jaw dropping. The sun rose up to reveal the fact that we might be parked at someone's house... eeek...

We then headed up through the single track and found a large open area for another photo with the gorgeous scenic backdrop.

We then got ready to leave and make our way over to a nearby pub for lunch and then the journey back home.

A great big thank you to all at PH Towers for organising the event, it was my first one in a few years and my girlfriends first one ever. She really enjoyed it. Such a wonderful variety of cars on show, it was enjoyable to look round them all. Here's to the next one.
