Oh my. What weather is required for the Mexico and I'll book it? cloud9 I doubt there's any other driving tour in the country where you'll see such an eclectic mix of cars!

Found it now, but no discount rate.

As somebody else has said, Suffolk isn’t the most accessible part of the country, but that won5 stop us👍, and hopefully the next one will be nearer north wales🤣

What’s the situation if we need to change to a different car? - just update wiki, or new entry?

Only ever done one similar event, and that was over three days, and we’re still friends🤣

Just head to the competitors page on the GT Motorsports Club site and you can edit your booking there. And if you could keep the Wiki up to date, that would be great too thanks!

You may be interested in the Andy Mort Tour in October, a similar event to this one but based in Lancashire. Entry fee £50, 130 miles route. Details on the 2300 Club website.

Thanks, but that looks more like it’s aimed at serious competitors...

I really fancy this but Ipswich is just too far away. Hoping for a Peak District one next year!

I have been having the odd look at the growing list of cars attending and yours is the one I am most eager to see.

Quick question, is everyone sticking to their driver/co-driver roles? I am planning to swap with mine during the day although my car is at the lower end of the value scale to be fair!

Looking forward to this event but the Holiday Inn don't know anything about the event or any preferential rates. So is there?

HOTEL UPDATE

This is the hotel that we will be starting from and finishing at: Holiday Inn Ipswich, London Road, Ipswich IP2 OUA

Unfortunately there's now another function at the hotel on the Friday night, so it would appear our preferential rate is no longer available. If you want to stay at the Holiday Inn you'll probably get the best rate by booking directly, although I'm sure there are many other places to stay in the local area.

The organisers will be staying there on the Friday and Saturday night, for those that want to join us for a pre/post celebratory beer!

Rooms are currently £56 per night for a double excluding breakfast if you have an IHG Rewards Club account (which is free).

Just a thought.....

What’s the situation with overnight parking? Any arrangements made, or each to their own?

There's loads of parking at the Holiday Inn on London Road (if that's where you're staying). The organisers have used this hotel a number of times for this very reason, so that it can cater for the event. We don't have a PH parking area as such though.

We'll stick to our roles for this one at least - if we develop a taste for it and do other events I expect we'd rotate.
