One month to go and I see the list is filling up nicely, not only with nice metal, but celebrities too...

Car 101, a 2018 Civic Type R, has Matt Neal doing the navigating.

I noticed this too... could it be? These timed sessions could be good fun if he gets plugged in to the Civic! A good target time to beat.

I'm 22 in an old Vauxhall mini cab - I don't want rain either 403 bhp, 419 ft/lb - no traction control and I can literally hear it fizzing in the rain biggrin

It does at least have a roof wink

We are Car 26. Navigator will be my 13 year old son so no driver swaps for us (despite being pestered about when can he have a go at driving)

Looking forward to seeing how far behind we end up some of the quicker machines.

First time doing this sort of event. Had a bit of a look at advice on what to take for road rallies but it looks a bit OTT for this event. I'm thinking:

Highlighter pens
A couple of pencils and eraser
Going to download a trip meter app to phone so we have a back up

Anybody got an essential that you think we'd need?

Sounds like you'll have it covered - I'm not planning on taking anything more than that. I downloaded Rally Tripmeter from the play store and it seems to offer more functions than we are likely to need. This event seems to be geared more towards novices than serious competition so bring on the fun smile

Just found out about this and it sounds exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for having just bought my first Porsche smile Unfortunately having just bought my first Porsche I'm currently skint, what are the chances of being able to arrive on the day and book? Ipswich is just up the road so super convenient for me for once smile

No offence intended but I'd be worried I'd stretched myself a little too much if I was in that circumstances - Find a mate who is willing to navigate and split the cost with them.

All booked and paid, #106, Audi RS6.

Never done such a thing before but looking forward to it.

Can anyone recommend a good Android app for the navigator to use? If allowed of course.

Also, what membership have we purchased for the GT Motorsports Club? Annual? Lifetime? Just this event? Will they be organising more events?

Many thanks,

We’re using GPS Odometer. Dead simple basic app but will be fine for the purposes of this event.

Very unlikely I'm afraid. We're nearly full already so if you want to come, you'll need to book very soon to get a space.

It will be an annual membership, although these things are nominal amounts. As an MSA permitted event everyone taking part has to be part of an MSA authorised club, but the actual cost is very small. And yes, we'll definitely be doing more bigger events together next year.

I have been having the odd look at the growing list of cars attending and yours is the one I am most eager to see.

Quick question, is everyone sticking to their driver/co-driver roles? I am planning to swap with mine during the day although my car is at the lower end of the value scale to be fair!
Haha she just an old escort smile

We may do some swapping about...left our monika's on from the Le Man trip biggrin

Ok excuses now....I'll probably still be running the car in so very much doubt I'll be partaking in the runway tests

Planning on getting my 10 y/o son to co-drive. Are there any guides to tulip maps you can recommend to see if he is up to it ( really to see if I am up to it)

Have had a look online and it seems there are three styles of tulip map with some not showing point of origin (the dot at the end of the arrows). Is there any chance you can please send a test map out for a novice like me ( even the first 3/5 miles of the actual route would be great)

Thanks

When are people arriving? Are the majority staying the night before? Does anyone know what the time trials are? I get the feeling if timed cone runs the Atom and the Caterhams have that in the bag!
