Perhaps it was just me but looking at the motorsports website just now it seems the third party insurance I took out for the airfield doesn’t in fact cover that- only covers third party on the road so is probably useless for any of us.
Perhaps it was just me?
My car is insured on a classic policy for a limited mileage - they don’t cover me for trackdays. Hill climds, sprints or autotest/autosolo - however if I record the mileage at start and end of any off riad event and let them know it doesn’t count in my annual mileage allowance. They didn’t have any issues with this event as it’s road based, non competative timing and just a navugational exercise. They won’t cover the timed section in the middle of the day but I knew that already - I’ll record the mileage anyway because I might get a bit tight miles wise by bext years renewal as it’s going to Le Mans for the normal 24hr bext year.Perhaps it was just me?
Nice to meet you all great day.

Was insurance really needed for such a small track type event? Perhaps it was just me?

Had a great day today. Using tulip road book was good fun and the route took us down a lot of roads I never would have found otherwise. My son really got the hang of it; very determined when he said don't follow them they have missed the junction and he was right!
Thanks to all the organisers - all seemed to run very smoothly.
Thanks also to the gents with the Porsche GT3 and McLaren that let my son sit in and start their cars. Made his day!
Hope everyone had fun too.

Well the farmer blocking the lunch exit and the closed road at the level crossing were classic moments! I had a great time, I thought it was really well organised, top work PH and GT Motorsports.
Cheers for the mugs too

The various disapproving locals did add to the enjoyment. We had a great day too, cream-crackered now!Cheers for the mugs too

To his credit when I spoke to him and explained what we were doing (navigational rally) he opened it back up again after a quick chat on the phone with his bossNorbury90 said:

I can only 110% agree with that brilliant fun and I didn't make my co-pilot sick which was a result Norbury90 said:

I think everyone had a few moments over the day mine was nearly beaching the big green taxi in the middle of a Y where I assumed my co-pilot said left he meant right He never did that at all during the day it's just my excuse for cocking up - any way the convoy behind just slipped past us on the nearside - most of them looked like they were laughing at my error and vehicle placement!!! Missed out on the bit with the farmer. Yes some local has a video of me going at no more than 30mph past her house although her facial expression suggested I wasn't about to join her collection of car videos.
I was the BMW behind you in that convoy she didn't seem best pleased with our slow procession past her house Nickp82 said:

I'm glad they made a showing, wouldn't have been the same without them I only got some light road blocking and a local flailing at me shouting slow down, as I rocketed past at 20 whilst giving a nice smile.
Anyone know where the pictures will be?
Great day, I feel the whole event ran very smoothly, in spite of the numerous very grumpy locals. Feel bad for the police, who no doubt had loads of pointless calls. My co-driver (and car owner!!!) was a fantastic first time navigator and we only cocked up once all day, leaving lunch
Cheers all. Car 52
