Paul, I assume you're still looking to sell the S once the Griff is sorted? If so, I'll try and intorduce myself and have a look around if you don't mind!

Missed the start of this thread, but seen it`s in a car park paying £3.50 in VW. Is it the one of the A30 just up the road from the Total petrol station and Mexican CHA CHA restaurant?

Will try and come along if dry, got a Lotus Esprit V8-GT, used to have a Chimaera before, or is it just TVR`s? If not, may be able to get a few more of the lads from Lotus Esprit group to come along as well.

Thanks Steve, if not peeing down will definitely make it.

We have a hardy group of Esprit owners and have fairly regular meets and do a decent run, is this something you do or is it turn up, chat and drive back?

I am fairly local and there are some great runs across the Chobham Common locally where the bikers road race.

Standard Esprit sounds like a Mondeo and as stated before used to have a TVR, so I like my noise, got straight pipes, no silencers, so sounds like a sports car should sound, great through the Heathrow tunnel with windows down and roof off. Also had ECU upgrade and AP brake upgrade all round, stops on a sixpence now and goes quite well.

Would like a run out if dry.

Bubbles,
There are too many cars at these events to organize anything other than the meet. Some of the guys do run outs to end up at various pubs.On the last occassion on 22/09 some of us were swopping rides....only problem with this is that you have to pay £3.50 every time to get back in to car park. Its not the cost just the nuisance value. There is a base that can be used instead of VW down the road if some of you guys want to
swop passenger rides.....I will explain on Sunday if you see me at VW.(Red Porsche flatnose)
Cheers

Thanks Steve for the info.

Re the Ultima owners, how many are coming??
Saw them up at Supercar Sunday a few months back, great day, lovely weather and interested in getting one myself. What problems do you get with them e.t.c.

Main problem with the V8 Esprit is gearbox, only a beefed up Renault 25 box, so 1st/2nd syncros prone to disappearing.

Got a mate with a Diablo with straight pipes, awesome sound, will see if I can get him to come along as well, he was up at Super car Sunday as well, the crowd puller when he started it and revved it.

Steve,

Just got hold of Jeff (Diablo) on the phone tonight.

He`s off to Gosport with his Dad for a Classic Car day and following his Dad down in the Diablo. His Dad has a really old car, gleaming, think it must be a Bugatti or something as worth inne xcess of £100k. They are car freaks, got a triple garage with full garage spec and pit, ramps e.t.c.
Jeff and his Dad took the Diablo apart, as bought it for £22,000 due to rear diff gone, took engine out, tweaked it, sprayed the whole car, replaced diff and reckon all in all cost around £7000, so he has a 92 Diablo with I think 18k miles on it for £29k, not bad eh?
Jeff also has a 90 SE Esprit, again been upgraded, kicks out 380bhp, which for a 2.2 turbo is not bad, lots of bodywork and suspension mods as well, goes like stink and quicker than my V8.

Steve,

Yeah shame about Jeff Diablo, he`s a car freak and wouldn`t have a problem taking you or your Son out in it.
Engines tweaked, if you can tweak 580bhp, done it themselves, but if you run along side him at about 100mph on the motorway with your window down and give him the nod to blast, it is an incredible noise, every boys dream and you can actually hear all the mechanicals not just the exhaust note, which even stationary it is awesome. The standard exhaust has valves built into it and open up around 4000revs and becomes straight through, Jeff don`t have the valves and made up his pipework in stainless.

Got another mate who`s got the 360 Modena, smae exhaust system, ala valves and again once above 4000 revs, sounds fantastic.

Earlier this year down at Castle Combe, Rob wanted to take his car on the track, but marshalls wise to the valves and got him to take car above 4k revs, as he was keeping it just below to get through noise limit, we were all standing behind and as soon as those valves open, WOWEEEEEEEEEEE!!

Both the 360 and Lambo exhausts are done by Scuderiasystems or Tubi as they are better known and are in Surrey not far from Marenellos, expensive, but quality fantastic and guaranteed for life, if fails, replaced free of charge.

Fit systems to most high performance cars and you can have a free trial of their systems for a few days, so they must be sure of their quality, who else would do this.

www.scuderiasystems.com

Cover TVR`s, Porsche, Lotus, Ferrari, Lambos e.t.c.

P.S. What are PHers??
