£100 deposit to attend, refundable subject to proper behaviour?
Great idea. You can't ban a plate, cars change hands. You can't bar people, it wouldn't work. You expect the young lad on the door to turn Mr. Bigman around?
Caffeine and machine have warnings then a "don't be a dick" sign as you leave. This is, the same road that everyone comes in on. People launch and go through the revs, easily breaking the speed limit and it's over a crest, so you can't see well.
These same people were queueing on the road to get in a few hours prior, who could quite easily be killed by some untalented idiot nailing it from the exit and losing control.
I was only saying this weekend that I very much miss a good PHSS.
First one I attended was back in 2014 at MBW, since been to a couple at Goodwood, Brands hatch & BMW HQ.
Compared to a big car show which are often the exact same cars or the same marquee/Country of Origin of Cars there's always a nice mix of cars at a PHSS but at the same time they're chilled like a proper sunday coffee morning while being a decent size and at an interesting venue!
It's good fun to chat with people about their cars or see a couple that you've been following in Reader's Cars my only problem is distance to alot of them, I personally wouldn't travel much further than an hour and a half and as I'm personally based down near Brighton.
Would be good to see more events on across the country and would be more than happy to pay a small £5-£10 ticket price for them.
As for people being bellends when they leave it's almost impossible to entirely stop as they'll do it at the exit of the event or the first round about after that but the biggest deterence by far is having a bit of a Police presence scouting out where people are likely to try and be a knob when leaving and advising the police to sit there in plain sight will very quickly stop anyone from trying it.
Another method i've seen used (Although it depends on location & Sound issues) is encouraging people to give a bit of a Rev of their car on the way out, gets it somewhat out of their system before they even get close to the public road to cause havoc, i've seen both of the above employed at a couple of coffee morning events aimed at a younger demographic where the behaviour is usually more common.

Thank you for taking a look, we've had hundreds of responses to the survey so have plenty of data and information to help us with our strategy.
Having said that, feel free to add any further thoughts or feedback on this thread as we'll take it all in and have some really helpful qualitative feedback to use.
Urgh... I've only just spotted this too, I've also been wondering what was going to be happening with the PHSS events.Having said that, feel free to add any further thoughts or feedback on this thread as we'll take it all in and have some really helpful qualitative feedback to use.
I've been to many fantastic PHSS events over the years, but I think I have to say Rolls Royce was one of my favourites..
Not sure what can be done about those who spoil it for others, I remember when it happened at BMW, back in the days when they were still at Bracknell. There was a lot of talk about it on the follow-up threads here and IIRC things calmed down for a while after. I'm hoping those responsible were shamed into behaving responsibly at the following events but with new members here, I suspect this sort of thing is going to be cyclic.
I wonder if there's an appetite for some international events?
With enough notice, I might be up for a PHSS in Stuttgart, Dieppe, Wolfsburg, etc... Not as an organised tour, just set up the date and let everyone make their own way there.

I was marshalling at that MBW event for PH and the general impression was that we wouldn't be asked back due to the behaviour of people arriving and departing, particularly as it was early on a Sunday in front of the very expensive hotel that is opposite the centre. If I remember there were a large contingent of people who despite being warned by us at the check in not to show off and that it could led to PH getting banned from the site just did so anyway. A lot of them were driving the same make and model of car too....
But it would be very nice to see these events back and yes the survey was up for too short a time. Would've liked to have had my say.

Yeah the MBW was a great event but a bit of a losing battle in hindsight as from the sounds of it pretty much any ill-behaviour would've looked extra-bad on the part of PH with the hotel nearby but then coupled with the fact that the road leading in to MBW is basically a long straight stretch of road.. you're always going to get idiots trying to prove a point to the peanut gallery. If I remember there were a large contingent of people who despite being warned by us at the check in not to show off and that it could led to PH getting banned from the site just did so anyway. I’m a msuk marshal and I run a classic breakfast meet at a pub in addition to being a goodwood and brooklands marshal. I’m very aware of anti social driving from or possibly to these events. I can only imagine that those who prefer to ignore the advice to adhere to the request to come/ enjoy/ and go have no respect to all involved and even less regard to the fact that these and many events will or have been dis allowed as a result.
In short selfish.

All such memorable events and often led to an unexpected longer day out.Samjeev said:

And a 30mph stretch at that. It is true that some of the events attract ridiculous driving. Even by my standards I remember some crazy stuff on the way to Santa pod. Silverstone is a favourite of mine for the track action, but again problematic on a Sunday morning through the residential area.
